Such attention to detail and the best continental breakfast I have ever had. Even better what we didn’t eat we could take away with us. We were in the Retro room which was amazing. We had great fun with the record player. There was milk and water in the outside fridge. Great service and great room for a special occasion. Painswick is lovely, park in the free car park and walk through the churchyard. Great quirky stay, thank you all.!
My husband and I visited bistro this past Saturday evening. Both of our meals were outstanding. Our waiter was superb, I wish I remember his name. He was extremely knowledgeable and the staff treats you like royalty. Whenever we come visit again, we will certainly be going to bistro! Best meal experience we’ve had in a while.
Overly lemon zested risotto (like eating Pledge furniture polish), salty dessert peaches, burnt to bitterness crème brûlée topping...water never refilled...bread that came after the appetizer while the butter sat on the table...left an awful lot to be desired
We had the pleasure of dining here on our anniversary 4/17. What a treat!
We began with the shrimp & grits appetizer which was superb. Fresh, cheesy, spicy but not overpowering, simply delicious. For entrees, we each had one of the specials. His veal chop was enormous and tender. My sea bass was perfectly seasoned and the accompanying vegetables and buerre blanc were perfection. As it was a special occasion, we completely ditched the diets and had dessert -- dark chocolate mousse was fantastic, but the profiteroles with salted caramel gelato were To Die For. Service at all levels was impeccable. It was clear from watching the staff interaction with other diners that many people are regulars here. Bistro will be at the top of our list on our next visit to St. Michaels.
