Theo's Steaks, Sides & Spirits - St. Michaels

Stopped in for Happy Hour and experienced a terrific evening. The atmosphere was small and cozy. It felt like a blue collar speakeasy but on Main Street. The menu was full and detailed with honest steak house food. The filets sliders were delicious. Cooked perfect. The mixologists,Samantha behind the bar was very friendly, knowledgeable, and made detailed recommendations. I went with an Old Fashioned which was perfect. Even in big city standards it was amazing. I enjoyed my experience and Theo’s is a must stop in St Michaels. 5 Stars

The worst Crab Cakes we ever had; small, mostly filling, terrible flavor.

This was my second time coming to Theo’s and I was not disappointed, again. This time I was a part of a larger party so we had the private dining room for our special gathering. The food was phenomenal and the service was absolutely special. My sister got engaged and the waiter made everything even more special. If you’re looking for an all around amazing dinner, Theo’s is your place.

As a frequent guest of this establishment we have finally had enough. The food is always above average and not fantastic. The other night the floor was woefully understaffed. The waiter would “disappear” for 15 minutes at a time. Drink order, wait 15 minutes. Food order, wait 15 minutes. So sad. Buyer beware though; Theo’s charges $6.00 to change a side from “mashed potatoes” to say “sweet potatoes”. Any deviation from the menu (even if it a cheaper side - they charge). Don’t get us wrong, we fully understand a substitution charge if the overpriced menu was fairly priced. Also, my favorite experience (2nd time they did this) the waiter offered “French fries” but failed to qualify that they cost $11.00. By the way, it’s not worth $11.00. Hopefully Theo’s gets back on track as a local favorite and for now we will be avoiding the restaurant. We don’t like being nickel and dimed for above average food, terrible staffing, and a menu priced like it is a 4 star restaurant in NYC.

A fabulous evening at Theo’s. We had local oysters on the half shell, the apple and bleu cheese salad, the Wednesday prime rib special, and the brownie sundae for two. Great wine that paired with the food. Excellent service that was both restrained and attentive. The location is cozy for easy conversation. Perfect for a romantic dinner (even if you’re in your 70s like us ). Parking: Could be hard to find in tourist season

Theo’s is a lovely little place, with good food, a charming (but loud) atmosphere and attentive service. However, to expect a customer to pay $48 for a small entree without offering so much as a cup of soup or salad beforehand or even providing a simple vegetable with the entree is assuming that entree was THAT GOOD. IT WASN’T, especially not for a Thursday night in November. Sorry. But, we were disappointed. Didn’t stay for dessert.
