I went to Wildflower on Friday with my partner for my birthday. We live in Fort Collins, which doesn’t have a lot of interesting food options, so our birthdays are usually opportunities to explore fun restaurants and concepts we’ve been meaning to try out in Denver To be clear, the food was very tasty, and the service was great! We thought the ambiance and setup was very cute and well put together. Wildflower, however seems to suffer from a crisis of identity and pulls a lot of punches that disappointed us a lot and detracted from the meal significantly. We chose them because the setup and concept suggested an exciting drink menu, and the idea of Mexican-italian fusion was an exciting one to see carried out on the plate. The food was pretty good. Our favorites: a squash soup with lobster and a bunch of wonderful textural components. And the dessert, a semifreddo and honey brittle concoction, was phenomenal as well. The drinks list, however, was a HUGE disappointment. For a restaurant trying to stand out in a sea of new openings and concepts, there is no excuse for the amount of laziness that went into putting together this wine list and beer list in particular. The beers come from some of Colorado’s biggest, most archaic breweries (I’m born and raised from Golden in case this hurts anyone’s feelings), and the wine list is heartbreakingly poorly put together. Nearly indistinguishable from the wine list at a country club in Greeley or your standard-issue chain steakhouse except for the fact that they included an Albariño on it… Nearly half of the damn thing are garbage mass produced corporate wineries like Stag’s Leap, Orrin Swift, Silver Oak, Laurent Perrier. Boo. In a year where grocery store wines have stuffed money into the pockets of corporate wineries and distributors, I was gobsmacked by seeing this stuff on the menu at a place that wants to be taken seriously as a restaurant. We went to Hop Alley in RiNo for a follow up birthday meal the night after with my parents and were reminded what a truly exciting and cutting edge drinks menu (and food menu) actually looks like! Really put in perspective our experience at wildflower honestly. A real shame because I was really excited for this restaurant. There’s no reason for us to come back or recommend it though with so many other restaurants in Denver putting so much more work into their drinks offerings

Chose the small "bouquet" option and loved every bite. There was more than enough food and everything was so unique, really enjoyed our experience except for the QR code menus.. nothing kills the mood more than a room full of people looking at their phones.

We loved this date night out! The service here is incredible. They specialize in customized experiences so I allowed the server to choose my drinks after sharing my likes and dislikes with her. My bf and I did the bouquet of wildflowers that was more expensive. They asked if there were any hard nos, allergies, and that sort of thing. We were served a surprise assortment of 5 small plates, two entrees, and a dessert. I believe our small plates were the scallop crudo, the focaccia with rosemary, grilled artichokes (personal favorite), butternut squash soup (his favorite), and the black truffle tart. Our entrees were the ricotta cavatelli and the moulard duck. Our dessert was the wildflower honey semifreddo. All around incredible experience and meal!

Highly suggest you do not let them do the bouquet of flowers. It’s not a scam, but we felt scammed. It was sold as, or we had the expectation from what we were told that it was a tapas-ish, chef tastings and you get more of the menu… That’s not it. They just pick the dishes for you. After we ordered this, we waited a bit before anything came out. Then our server forgot we ordered this and came back, frantically realized her mistake and then got us going. This is fine, people make mistakes, but now we’re already behind on the experience you’re pushing, and you have a set amount of time for your reservation here. When we got our last plate, it was about 15 min before they told us our time was running out. They told us this… and then asked us if we wanted dessert, to which I replied, “I don’t think we have enough time.” We still got moved to the bar and after paying a $300 bill, we just felt like pawns in a game to extract everything they could. They are incredibly attentive, honestly it’s too much. I don’t need you to change the silverware 3/4 times at dinner. Just seems like a weird psychological game they’re doing with this. The bartenders and staff are fantastic. I just think we got an off night with our server. We used to think this was one of the best restaurants in Denver. It still can be, just don’t let them decide for you, unless you know the server.
