Wally's Santa Monica

On February 2nd, 2024, my wife and I recently dined at Wally's Restaurant in Beverly in Santa Monica, and our experience was far from what we expected. From the moment we arrived, we felt subjected to differential treatment that seemed to stem from racial profiling. The host scrutinized my wife's attire in a manner that felt both unwarranted and uncomfortable. Our discomfort escalated when my pregnant wife was followed to the restroom by a host under a dubious pretext, an action that felt invasive and discriminatory. This was compounded by an incident where I was subtly rushed to finish my meal post-payment and subsequently followed to the restroom by a security staff member, actions that left us feeling surveilled rather than served. Such experiences have led us to question the inclusivity and hospitality standards at Wally's. We can't help but wonder if other patrons have encountered similar treatment based on racial profiling. To those who have dined at Wally's, have you experienced or witnessed anything similar? We believe it's crucial for such experiences to be shared and addressed to ensure a welcoming environment for all patrons, regardless of their background.

I have been a fan of Wally's for years. On Sunday, I wanted to walk in and ask for Sambuca - and I have possibly bought hundreds of bottles. The guy in the department needed to learn what Sambuca was. I thought that Wally would educate their people better than that, especially since they sell it (I eventually found it myself - not that they guy was really wanting to help :-(

Great selection of wines and great ambience to pop some bottles with friends while enjoying some food. Definitely heading back soon. @journeythruflavors

Great waygu burger. Beautiful atmosphere. Servers could have been a bit more attentive but it was pretty busy. Worth the cost for the burger, can't speak to the rest of the menu.

Amazing atmosphere with tall wine walls. Heard a lot of people take their dates here. Pasta was amazing with its complex sauce. Efficient good service. Staff. Walking distance from Bungalow

Le Cameriere Mancano di Gentilezza e Cortesia" Ho prenotato un tavolo qualche settimana fá ed ho chiesto se fosse l unico tavolo disponibile o se ci fosse la possibilitá di cambiare,La signorina cameriera in questione mi ha risposto che se non prendevo quello potevo tranquillamente appoggiarmi al bancone del bar" con modi ben poco cordiali ha sbattuto il menú sul tavolo ed è andata Via" (alla fine son rimasto lo stesso per un risotto alla pescatora e due bicchieri di vino bianco) ma non so se ci ritornerei...

Recently 3rd street promenade of Santa Monica had been a place locals avoid and tourists come to get disappointed. Most shops have disappeared and many favorite restaurants closed. Reluctantly made the trip, just to confirm what I had thought, until walked in to Wallys. And now can't wait to come back. Food is amazing, and there's a vast choice of cheeses and charcuterie of your choices, that are then presented so elegantly and perfectly paired with fruits nuts etc. With isles and isles of wines from all around the world, you can't go wrong. But if needed, there's a wine expert who will help you choose. Not a wine person, no worries, they have a full bar. Cheers!
