CHEZ TEX

Best curated wine selection on the west side if you like funky wine. 2023: recently returned and very disappointed.

I was looking for a place to host about a dozen and half friends for my birthday recently. I emailed Chez Tex and Jesse got back to me very quickly and said they were happy to host us without a minimum spend (which was exactly what I was looking for, some other places had very high minimum spends or odd policies about having the minimum spend on only one card). I asked last minute to add a couple of friends to the guest list and they were very accommodating. The night of the party, we arrived to a nicely arranged communal table with place settings for every person who was in attendance. My friends and I certainly kept the wait staff busy on top of them serving other patrons but they were always courteous and happy to offer tips on food and drink. The wine selection was good, and the food was great. The casual atmosphere was ideal for an event where people could talk easily and enjoy a relaxed evening of socializing. At the end, they cut the cake for us and did a wonderful job with service. They even offered me tips on where to go out in the area to extend the birthday festivities. I will definitely be back to actually try the food I ordered for the table this time time and try more of the wine selection. I’m also excited to come back when they get their liquor license.

Last night was our second visit to Chez Tex. I think it was even better than the first.....and that was also terrific. A perfect neighborhood spot. Friendly staff, nice menu choices with a good variety and very delicious food. Everyone's favorite, including the staff's, seem to be the zucchini fritters. They made for a perfect appetizer. We sat outside. Just enough action on the street to make things interesting but not overwhelming. We'll be back and recommend it to all as well!!

Every bite and sip was fantastic! We loved our waiter and the music and atmosphere. Favorites were the truffle salami, sausage, zucchini fritters, chicken sandwhich (basically everything we ate!)

Yes...tha best Chicken Sandwich on Main St.!!
