Just went by to place a simple carry out order and was told they weren’t taking any orders. Place was empty at 12 noon.

Horrible experience! I entered the restaurant at 12 pm with my son. We ordered food by 12 15 , at 1 pm the waiter finally came and to told me that he noticed I have been waiting for our food for a long time ! So I asked him, so when our food will be ready? The waiter said we didn’t even start your order yet . And he stated that they are very short staffed and the they had only one chef . So they are so behind . I left without eating , but so surprised at the attitude. And all the tables were left so dirty no servers was cleaning them .

C Rule

It is poorly managed and we had a terrible time here. Our server said there would be a bit of a wait, but we weren't expecting to wait 1.5 hours to get our food! It wasn't even busy in the restaurant. At one point a waiter was walking around asking tables if a plate belonged to them, even though there were only four full tables in the restaurant. The gyros were fine, just bland and boring and small. They were not restaurant quality and were something I'd expect from a fast food chain place. The fries were burnt and terrible. Definitely not worth such a frustrating experience. EDIT: Also, we ended up having terrible digestive issues after eating here. Stay away!!!

Lunchtime, so it was pretty empty. They have a large, two-page, all-day breakfast! Very extensive selection for all meals, definitely something for everyone. Lots of Greek favorites, including Gyros.

Coming from Baltimore which has a ton of great Greek cuisine in its Greektown neighborhood, we have generally been disappointed in Nashville's Greek restaurants. Athens Family Restaurant is an exception to that and is hands down the best Greek food I have found in Nashville so far.

This is their "new" location. Parking is limited on the street. The back alley parking has trash everywhere since they can't afford consistent trash pickup. The building is falling apart on the outside, still has the old restaurant sign on the roof. I've never walked by when more than 2 people are inside. The owners seem to put zero effort into running the place. Seriously shocked they're still in business. AVOID!!
