So good: I had a coffee and the “oh my gogi” and both were so good and a great cure for my hangover
Always love visiting. The coffee is delicious. Tried the milk toast breakfast sandwiches. Different.
This used to be a legendary coffeehouse in Nashville, where many students, artists, musicians, and chess players would congregate. Unfortunately, this spot is now out of its prime. They tore down their large front porch to make the inside bigger, making it more of a corporate Starbucks than a hip hang-out spot. There are THREE HUGE signs in their front lawn saying "No outside food! Small business is hard enough!" in large aggressive fonts. While I sympathize with their frustrations, it gave me an unwelcoming impression, and a something small and tasteful would have worked just as well. The old Bongo Java embraced their eclectic and loyal crowd, while this new one seems to be colder and more profit-driven.
This was the first time I had been to Bongo Java. It was clean and warm. The lady at the counter was friendly and welcoming. I enjoyed my chai tea latte, sourdough toast, bacon, potatoes, and scrambled eggs.
Terrible experience. All of Bongo Java’s menus through online ordering apps and on their own website say the breakfast quesadilla/burrito comes with avocado and breakfast potatoes. When I received my order, the quesadilla only had eggs and cheese. I called to inform them of the error and they told me their online menus are wrong and the quesadilla doesn’t contain avocado or potatoes unless added on. Why would I add it on when the menu says it’s included?? The manager said there was nothing she could do to rectify the issue. This is absolutely ridiculous and poor customer service. I did not get what I ordered and she acted like it was my fault that their online menus are inaccurate. Be warned, if you order online you may not get what you ordered and they will not fix it.
Orders a simple red eye. Wasn't in much of a time crunch when I ordered it, had about 30 minutes to kill till next meeting. Well suffice to say I left without the red eye. No where should it take 30 minutes to get a single coffee. Not even at the dreaded Seattle chain. Used to be my go-to spot in town. Now I'm looking for somewhere else.
Appalling service. We waited an hour for a bagel, and 45 minutes for cold avocado toast.
