Finally got a chance to try WU Chow and I was not disappointed. Located in a great spot in downtown Austin. You have to try their scallions hugging beef! 5/5 stars on that dish. So delicious! Their WU Chow Special fried rice was also pretty good. Got to try their lion’s head meatballs, it had a pretty soft texture and good flavor. Would definitely recommend for either a date night or just a spot to stop by for lunch.
We came to WU Chow-Downtown to celebrate the Lunar New Year. This special event featured specialty cocktails, apps and dragon dancers. Fun was had by both adults and kids.
Great experience we went on saturday's night to celebrate birthday.
We stopped by this place and so glad we did. Great food with Sichuan flavors. Enjoyed their eggplant, cucumbers, and shrimp special. Non-alcoholic drinks were delicious too. Soup dumplings were pretty good too. This place is a gem in this area, and we are fairly picky with good Asian food coming from Chicago. Service stellar too
One of the best Chinese food I had in recent times in Austin. Everything we ordered were perfect. The service and ambience was great as well. Will definitely visit again.
We ate here twice in 5 days because it was just so good! Honestly, I thought the soup dumplings were a bit overrated, but everything else was amazing. We LOVED the Chicken with celery, green beans, mushrooms and the tofu. Some of the things were super spicy even though the menu didn’t specify it, so maybe just clarify that before you order. I wished that they had more dessert options, but we were so full after dinner that we didn’t even miss dessert. The first time I didn’t think to reserve a table, and I was lucky to get a spot, so I definitely recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment. The cocktail menu looked great too!
Food was great, atmosphere was really nice. The price was surprising in a very pleasant way. And our server was wonderful!
Delicious food and great service, with really good gluten free options!
Been eating here for years, BUT, the Trendy waiter continually forgot to put in our order for soup, and various dishes. His attitude and lack of attention was a huge turn-off. Additionally I got MSG poisoning even after the staff said they do not use MSG. Finally after calling the next day with a migraine and upset GI system, I was told that they use ingredients that have naturally occurring MSG…ridiculous and dubious at best. Poor treatment and a migraine to boot. I’m done eating here.
