We love The Townhouse! Housed in a former Speakeasy, this restaurant is the best in Emeryville. For an amazing dining experience, we highly recommend it. An inventive but approachable menu that is California Cuisine inspired, yes still very European. They always have a meatless option that is absolutely wonderful. Some nights feature a lovely jazz duo.

It has always been and continues to be a gem in Emeryville.

Manager ruined our evening. We waited over one hour with 3 small children for our food and the manager was very rude. He did comp our meal out of sheer embarrassment rather than just apologise for cold food, long wait and REALLY small cold portion of kids food, not to mention the way he spoke to me...even his staff were embarassed! We went to tip waitress who didn't want to accept...we made her take it as she did her best! He said the reason he was rude to us was because his father was ill. I wish his father good health!! I've been seriously ill...I'm never rude! I saw him talking about us to staff...sadly for him I lipread! This restaurant had all the makings of a lovely evening...such a pity! I wouldn't go back and couldn't possibly recommend.

Brought my son here for his bday dinner last night (2/6). I was here previously here in December and loved the food. For some reason, it wasn't hitting last night. Everything we had prior to our main course was very good. My son enjoyed his burger. However, I tried the fish & chips. I sent back the first one because it was fired too hard and rubbery. The new one came out much better, but I didn't notice the skin still on the fish until I got home. I want to give this place another shot, but I don't want to have the same experience of my food like that again.

This place was ok. Everything could’ve used salt. The waiters were nice enough, not over appreciative, but ok. The kids pasta was kinda gummy. Pork chop was tender, and fish and chips were certainly different than the pictures.

Great atmosphere. Our server was very welcoming. The food was very delicious. Definitely will be returning for another great dinner. Parking: Very small parking lot, and located on a street with lots of neighboring parked cars. Good luck!

We recently dined at this restaurant and had a mixed experience. The outdoor seating was comfortable, especially appreciated were the two heaters on the patio which provided warmth on a chilly evening. However, the music inside was a bit too loud, making conversation challenging. They don't refill sodas which was mind boggling. Regarding service, the food was delivered in an unusual manner. Our order was brought out in intervals, with about 2-3 minutes between each set of two plates. This was a bit inconvenient for our group of seven, as we had to wait to start eating together. As for the food quality, my burger, requested to be medium-well, unfortunately leaned more towards well-done. While I can't comment on the other dishes, they certainly looked appetizing. The sweet potato fries were a highlight - absolutely delicious. The garlic fries, on the other hand, were just mediocre. Overall, the experience had its highs and lows. The outdoor seating arrangement and some food items were great, but the staggered service and some aspects of the food preparation could be improved.
