The Pancake Pantry - Nashville

To start, I don't get it. I'll never understand the draw for pancake-focused breakfast joints. But that's me. There are a ton of pancake options, namely, how many different ways can we shove sugar into and on top of a pancake. Seems lazy. I ordered the Bacon and Eggs and subbed cornmeal pancakes for the buttermilk. There was a bit of confusion, but finally he figured it out and came by the table and said "because you want the plain cornmeal, your meal will come with two. Today's going to be a good day." He said it with such genuine enthusiasm, that it set my day on a great trajectory. This place has a following, the line outside spoke of the draw. You just won't find me in that line again. I don't regret going, but I don't need to go back.

Great food. I loved the cinnamon syrup with my pancakes . The price fits for the portion size and quality.

Stick to the pancakes and bacon, they are fantastic! I don't suggest the Sausage Gravy, I feel it could benefit from some seasoned salt to add a bit more kick during the thickening process.

Got the hash brown meal with ham, peppers, onions and an over easy egg (I forget the name) and added sweet potato pancakes. I got a hot coffee and added the coffee liqueur. Everything was amazing. Cleaned the plate (s)

Average ihop/denny’s level food. Orange juice was like $11 tasted bitter, highly doubt it was fresh squeezed as advertised. Pancakes were decent but nothing special. Wouldn’t feed the sausage to my dog. Nashville hot chicken was not fried, had a rubbery texture like it was boiled. Don’t be fooled by their line, it’s a mediocre tourist trap. The multi level diner around the corner isn’t much better either. Cafe intermezzo has the best food in that neighborhood by a long shot.
