Lunch was expensive at $160 per person, but the restaurant was fully booked. The shiitake mushrooms and lotus roots were incredibly delicious!
This is easily one of the most unique and amazing dining experiences we have had in the city. We have tried many other comparable Japanese restaurants, and this is by far the most memorable one. From the quirky yet incredibly friendly manager to the insanely talented chefs including master Endo at the fryer, the dinner was a symphony of beautiful flavors. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic Japanese experience. I will definitely be back for more!
I was a regular at Tempura Matsui before the pandemic, and was particularly appreciative of the affordable lunch prices (pre-pandemic, it was less than $100pp); but the current prices are far to steep, which is a shame, because they really do make great tempura.
디너로 방문했습니다. 에피타이저로 참치 대뱃살, 우니 그리고 날 메추리알이 나왔고, 그 뒤 사시미도 참치 대뱃살과 다른 기름기 있는 생선이 나왔어요. 코스의 메인이 덴푸라 오마카세인 만큼 다른 메뉴들이 조금 덜 기름진 음식들이었다면 조화가 좋았을 것 같습니다. 덴푸라 오마카세 뒤에 나오는 식사류도 튀김이 올라가는 텐돈, 텐차 등이어서 계속 기름진 음식이 이어졌어요. 덴푸라류는 그 전 디너 라운드가 끝나면서 전부 새 기름으로 교체하시고 바로 눈 앞에서 튀겨주셔서 맛있었습니다. 직원분들도 상당히 친절하신데, 남자 서버분들중 일하신지 얼마 안되는 분들이있는것 같아요. 미슐랭 레스토랑으로 보기에는 조금은 어설픈 느낌이있었네요. 잘먹고 갑니다!
