Today, I had the pleasure of visiting Tarragon Cafe for a business meeting, and I was thoroughly impressed. As I arrived a bit early and found a cozy spot by the large windows, I noticed the staff didn't bat an eye at me sitting alone at a larger table before my companions arrived. Their relaxed and accommodating attitude made me feel right at home. For my meal, I savored the Veggie Frittata with a side salad, accompanied by a glass of Sauvignon Blanc and a delightful low ABV wine cocktail. Meanwhile, my friend enjoyed the pesto chicken panini with chips. Our colleagues, who were interviewing us for the SF Chronicle, indulged in iced coffees and muffins. Every dish was an experience, prompting us to pause our conversation repeatedly to appreciate the exquisite flavors. The staff at Tarragon Cafe were not only attentive but also incredibly friendly and personable, adding an extra layer of warmth to our dining experience. The ambiance of the cafe was inviting, with plenty of natural sunlight streaming in through the large windows. Though outdoor seating was available, we opted to sit inside and enjoy the cozy atmosphere. If I were to nitpick, the only slight downside was that the music was a tad too loud for our liking, but it didn't detract significantly from the overall experience. So, Tarragon Cafe exceeded our expectations in every aspect. Whether it's for a business meeting, work/study, or a casual bite, I highly recommend visiting this charming establishment.
The atmosphere in this place was terrible. The cashier wasn’t welcoming. My sister ordered a coffee and asked for the wifi so we could look up the near by bus stop. The chef rudely yelled saying that only paid customers can have the wifi. He was super rude and made us feel unwelcome. I don’t recommend coming to place. I rather eat food off the ground than be served by this man. The coffee wasn’t good.
The service was very rude. We stopped in for a coffee and to look for directions, wanting to use their internet. The cashier looked at me weirdly when I asked for Wi-Fi and we hadn’t even sat down before the man in the back came and told us rudely that if we weren’t going to buy anything we would have to leave and not use their wifi… we wanted to stop in for a minute, look for directions and I did buy a coffee. Really horrible staff and service. Wouldn’t recommend, especially to tourists. We weren’t planning on staying long but left after a minute since they were so rude.
Had the smoked salmon levain toast, and it was excellent although $18 so a little pricey. There’s a lot of space to do work or just read, and the coffee ($4 for a large) is very good. Nice vibe, although I’m here on a Sunday mid-morning and it’s pretty empty. I don’t hate this, but I am naturally skeptical of empty cafes on Sunday mornings.
My favorite cafe in our neighborhood. The food is always delicious. Friendly atmosphere. Dietary restrictions: I’m lactose but I always find something to eat or they will help me.
Absolutely one of the best neighborhood cafes. Excellent and high quality and friendly and wonderful service. Really a jewel for us. Vegetarian options: See above. Salads are fantastic Dietary restrictions: Vegan vegetarian and carnivores delight Parking: Neighborhood parking is fine and available
Friendly, tasty; beautiful location
Stupidly expensive at $60 for three mediocre sandwiches and no beverages. The potato chips accompanying the sandos were good. Everything else was meh.
Always good food , friendly service
Great food and great service. I’m new to the city and felt welcomed here!
