What can I say, this place is amazing. It hits every checkmark. The food is fantastic and well priced for the quality. The service is top-notch. They were there to help without hovering. The atmosphere is great too.

I was asked if the food was good more than 15 times by 3 different servers during 50 mits. It was so distracting and stressful. Food was also not my style except grilled cod.

I absolutely love Saito. The food is great and staff are fantastic. They’re friendly and attentive. The tuna rib is the best dish in my opinion. Cool and fun presentation and a good amount of great tasting tuna for a non-offensive price! However, they can (and sometimes do) run out of tuna ribs later in the night so I recommend an early reservation to make sure you get them while they last. My other favorite dishes are the crispy rices, the scallop with mushrooms, the cold soba noodles, and the mini chirashi. With that said, I haven’t had a single bad dish so it’s hard to go wrong!

Like other reviewers, this place has been on our list from IG so was surprised to see we were the only diners (altho it was a rainy Tues). Food was fresh but service was inconsistent eg hand wipes only given after we started eating the ribs & when we were ready to order no one was paying attention. Think it was just a slow day but overall confusing experience.

TLDR: Sister restaurant of Chef Nakazawa is a little shop in Nolita. Tuna rib, scallops and mushrooms, fish and chips. Popped in for a Friday night to check out this little izakaya on Kenmare. Chef Nakazawa (yes, that Nakazawa) is one of the owners and it seems like his passion project. We got the tuna nakaochi (rib) because you have to. They give you these clam shells to scoop out the meet and make hand rolls yourself with wasabi and crispy nori. While this is delicious, I would suggest sharing with more people as the flavor does get monotonous after awhile. Scallops and mushrooms. This was very good, buttery, savory - lots of scallops. I almost did not order this but glad I did. Pressed salmon sushi and ikura. The fish was seared and the roe provided a nice salty pop with each bite. Wagyu don. Tasty but a bit on the pricier side, think a regular good galbi over rice with egg yolk. Fish and chips. This caught my interest as it's not a common izakaya dish. The potatoes are crispy and sort of rough-torn. The fish is yellowtail, nice meaty, crispy battery and perfect tangy tartare sauce to go with it. Definitely would stop in again if in the area.

Such a unique and lovely meal. You have to get the tuna rib-never experienced anything like it. And the biscuit is out of site. The service was spectacular as well. I’d make a reservation at this place while you still can.

I went to Japan for a few weeks last year. This is the first time I've had anything that compares to the incredible food, wonderful service and chilled atmosphere I experienced in Kyoto and Tokyo. Highly recommended.

This restaurant has been on my list for awhile and finally got to try it. I've seen so many pairs on IG with the tuna rib and couldn't wait to try. It's a must get IMO because it's so unique and fun, scooping out the tuna sashimi with clam shells and wrapping in nori. You can make at least 10 pieces or more depending on how much tuna you use for each piece. We also ordered the sautéed sea scallops with mushroom, which was amazing, the Mirai pork ribs were just okay, the tuna crispy rice and black cod were really good. So glad I got to try and will def come back! Highly recommended!
