North River Tavern

I stopped in for lunch, the food was good and the service was fast and friendly. There are lots of bar food options along with a full bar.

We stumbled up on North River Tavern today for lunch and boy were we happy we did! The food was amazing, our server, Ali, was awesome and we will definitely be making our way back up here again!

In the last year this place has gone down hill. The food doesn't stay consistently good (like the picture I included) we got the pepperoni appetizer the meat was dry/hard as a rock! There was little to no filling, they put this item up two months ago and it was good for a month. Some of the bartenders are rude, they don't check up on you as much. If they see your drink is empty they just walk away, the food takes forever!! We went in on a Wednesday in the afternoon probably about 7 people there our food took what seemed like over 30 minutes. I know it's a dive bar but it has to have standards. There obviously isn't someone checking the food before it goes out. Probably not coming back here.

I used to enjoy coming here and getting quality food and drinks. Recently (being the last 4 visits), the food has dropped to below what you would expect from any eatery. The chicken in the tavern taquitos is dry and lacks flavor, the drinks are inconsistent, and the food feels as if it's just put on a plate to get a quick buck. Average wait time (when not busy) is around 30 min or longer. And the initial interaction with the bartender (3rd time having her) she was not interactive, and more just going through the motion to get away I am sad to see this, and i do recognize some good people here. However, as an overall experience, I will not be returning. Parking: 45+ spots Wheelchair accessibility: Parking up front, 2 spots by the door.

If you want plastic cheese with canned chicken in a puddle of grease, this place is for you! Ordered chicken nachos, which you’d think any bar should do well with and this is what I received. Pico tasted off, chips were stale and whatever sauce they tossed the chicken in I’d check the expiration date. This was my first time here so I’m not sure if this is the norm but in addition to the stale chips and awful ingredients, the cheese was cold and starting to congeal. Will avoid North River Tavern in the future.

Went here with two friends on a Wednesday night, and left pretty dissatisfied. Bill came to $80 after tip, and I was angered to pay that kind of price for the experience that we had. No alcohol or expensive plates were ordered either. To start, the hostess had to take our order because our server was nowhere to be found after 10 minutes (the hostess was very attentive though). They took our drink and food order at the same time which we appreciated. Our appetizer never came, and it was instead delivered with the rest of the food, which we waited close to an hour for. My burger was uninspiring. There was little to no flavor, the meat was dry, very little sauce, and the cheese & bacon were overcooked/burnt. My sides were about the same. My friends had better luck with their entrees, but they both ordered Mac & Cheese that came out watery. I've never seen watery mac & cheese before. We would've brought these things up to our server, but we only saw this person once during our whole visit. Our section of the restaurant seemed to be almost forgotten. None of us ever got drink refills, which was disappointing. The appetizer that came with the entrees was too tough to chew, so we left it untouched. Much disappointment was had that night. Seems like management needs to kick themselves into higher gear.
