Monzu Fresh Pasta

For a restaurant with a wine list including bottles over $400, the food should have been impressive. But our meal and overall experience were disappointing. The artichoke salad tasted like the Parmesan came out of a bag from Costco along with the rest of the ingredients. No dressing and no flavor. Similarly, the sausage and porcini dish tasted like overcooked noodles covered with cream of mushroom soup. On the other hand the almond pesto dish was unique with excellent pasta noodles, and the meatball appetizer was decent. Either the chef is missing a few tastebuds or is under intense management pressure to use cheap ingredients. The decor was barren and a bit noisy for being half empty on a Saturday night. Overall would not return.

Not a great Valentine's day experience. We paid $200 in advance (with tip) for an indoor table at 7 and had to wait an hour outside with not a lot of apologies from the staff. An apology and a comped glass of wine would've gone a long way after we had paid $200 for the prix fixe but got neither.

Fantastic visit! All pasta homemade and sauces delicious. Alberto took great care of us! Highly recommend!

Solidly decent food. I had gluten free pasta and it didn’t taste gluten free, which is always a win. My date had sausage pasta and said it was fine. Not amazing, but also a decent dinner place. I will say it was better than a lot of other Italian restaurants in the area.

Monzu. Omg. Haven't been to my favorite downtown restaurant in a couple months. Turns out the owner, Aldo from Sicily, went home to Naples. His staff are doing an outstanding job keeping the legend alive. Still melt in your mouth al dente fresh pasta and so many incredible flavors! We got the Arancini Sicily to start (!) The artichoke salad had arugula, parmesan, a light vinaigrette, and the most amazing green olives , (a lot!) I ALWAYS get the cacio i pepe ravioli, it is to die for! But the waitress talked us into the vegetarian special, a gorgonzola and red cabbage ravioli with a zucchini puree, green beans, and dill!! Holy shnikies! The flavors exploded in my mouth! Please go to Monzu so they stay in business. Please!

An amazing Italian restaurant! We are visiting from Toronto and this place was near our Airbnb. Wow wow wow! The food is absolutely delicious! Strongly recommend that you go, the food comes out quickly and is so flavourful and delicious. Great service from the friendly staff, nice atmosphere. If I lived here I’d visit every week! My pictures don’t do it justice- just go and try it!!!
