Mala experiencia.
Menu very small print...hard to read. Also menu very vague in description of food. Music was nice. He was entertaining. Waitress not attentive. Out of all desserts.
The food was good, but the main thing I want to warn others about is that they charge an 18% "service fee" for parties of 6 or more. This is NOT the gratuity - you are expected to tip on top of this 18% surcharge. We were not warned of this beforehand either. They did remove it after I made a big enough stink about it, but that left such a bad taste in my mouth about this place that I'm only giving it 3 stars despite the good food. Machu Picchu management, if you're reading this: stop this underhanded practice.
I've been going for years when this restaurant was just a little hole in the wall and enjoyed it every single time. I went to visit for the first time there new location and took my mother as a treat. Afrer paying my tab the waiter came back very abruptly to ask if we were unsatisfied with our service due to the tip we had left. Very unprofessional. Unfortunately it will be the last time I go. I didn't know I was obligated to pay for an extra plate no one ate. Very disappointing.
Fantastic food and service.
I had never had Peruvian food so when my friend suggested we meet here I said sure. I am so glad I did. And I can't wait to go back. The owner and his wife are lovely and the place is decorated so cute. The food was delicious. I had the seafood ceviche with deep fried calamari and my friend had the sampler. We then shared a dessert that was out of this world. I can't recommend this cute little place enough. They used to be at a little hole in the wall on Bayshore but have recently moved to this new location. You really need to check it out!
