The service is very good, the sushi is delicious. We try the fire cracker roll and the California roll.
Wonderful sushi restaurant that’s been in Larkspur for many years for a reason. Chef, John Wayne and his wife Vanna do a great job of providing the freshest fish at reasonable prices in a cool family atmosphere. The Ferrari of sushi restaurants in Marin!
Quirky place with excellent food and prices. Causal environment. Frequented by locals of all stripes. They are threatening to retire so try them out soon!
John Wayne is the proprietor and STAR at the sushi bar. He’s always happy and greets regulars by name. King of the Roll has the freshest fish around and serves up generous portions. The BIG Roll is my go to, you have to try it tempura if you haven’t already.
Quite good, and well above average, and not expensive. Unassuming place with impressive food, operating in the historic Larkspur train depot, which is cool, but it's not lit well for ambiance, but pride of food served is evident. Very generous slabs of fish on the nigiri sushi! Johnny is serious about serving quality fish at more than reasonable prices. Parking: 6 or 8 spots in the lot I'd guess. Never a problem getting a space. Kid-friendliness: Very casual, not an issue. Wheelchair accessibility: Easy roll in, minor bumps to negotiate.
Lovely food and service. It's very casual dining, sitting outside on a patio that is just off a bike path (!) But so relaxed and fun. Kid-friendliness: Patio is half dozen round tables that seat 4. Perfect for people with kids and pets.
Wonderful outdoor seating.
I have been going to King of the Roll Sushi for many years. Owner & Chef, John Wayne , selects all of the fish personally… his rolls, sashimi & nigiri are by far the best tasting in the county because of his relationship with the fisherman that supply him. He is fun and gracious…if he suggests something to try just do it! All of the dishes on the menu are worth a taste. Good sake & beer selection. Everything is abundant and prices are reasonable…if you love good sushi, a fun, unique atmosphere… you just better go there or try the takeout…the escolar special roll is a fav! Enjoy! Vegetarian options: A good selection Parking: No problem
