My experience at Keens Steakhouse was an utter disappointment from start to finish. The food quality was shockingly poor; the oysters were gritty, and the steak resembled a piece of cardboard. However, what truly soured the evening was the abysmal service we received. The servers and waiters displayed a shocking level of rudeness, carelessly bumping into members of our party, including the birthday girl, as they shuffled around plates with indifference. To add insult to injury, when I brought up the fact that a dish I had ordered and paid for was missing, the staff offered no attempt to rectify the situation. As someone who has worked in the service industry for years, I initially tried to maintain empathy, understanding that everyone has their off days. But the blatant disregard for customer satisfaction displayed by the staff at Keens Steakhouse was utterly appalling. It pains me to write this review, as I rarely feel compelled to do so. However, the egregious combination of subpar food and abysmal service cannot go unaddressed. The exorbitant prices charged by Keens Steakhouse are simply not justified by the dismal experience they provide. I will actively recommend diners towards other restaurants and steakhouses that actually deserve their patronage. Save your money and your sanity; Keens Steakhouse is not worth the disappointment.

Came here for my wife’s birthday dinner. Just phenomenal. Our server was attentive knowledgeable, and fun to chat with. Cocktails were boozy and delicious. And the steak wow. Might be our new special occasion spot in NYC

Great old school steakhouse. Superb service.

We sat at the bar and still were hoping to order a regular menu as that is possible in most restaurants. We were told only bar food was orderable. Then later, I saw other groups of people ordering the regular menus in the bar. Not sure what changed in 5 minutes. Why others were allowed while we were not? Prime rib was okay: the meat part was tender, but there were too many fat and stringy parts (you can see the picture- almost half of the meat was fat/stringy part). Lobster was okay. A bit too cold, but the horse radish sauce was good. The portion was pretty small. The ginger ale was good. For the two of us, the whole meal together cost about $100. Considering the price, the lobster salad was tiny (not to mention the level of service). Not sure if I would revisit it.
