Hana did not disappoint, as we were recommended this place by multiple people. We ordered the chawanmushi, a variety of nigiri, spicy edamame, maitake, shumai, finished off with the cheesecake & black sesame icecream. Everything tasted fresh. Can’t wait to come back.
Best sushi on the west coast!
Extremely high quality fish. Sushi that is made great by the fish not soy sauce and aoli
Best sushi north of San Francisco!
It's been a while since we've visited, and we weren't disappointed. Everything we had was so fresh. Our waiter was attentive and was knowledgeable and had excellent recommendations from the matcha to Hamachi to uni and grilled squid.
Unassuming restaurant in a Rohnert Park strip mall . Probably the best sushi in Sonoma county.
I do not eat sushi very often. This is because I like to eat good sushi and the good stuff is expensive. Thus, sushi is a special occasion treat and Hana did not disappoint. There were a couple of specific items I picked out. One of them was Uni (Sea Urchin). I have had it twice before tonight. The first time, I cooked it myself. The first time I served it on top of diver scallops (Still in shell with roe attached in a noises butter sauce). I got them at a Paris fish market and found them bland. The next was at an expensive sushi restaurant were I found them bitter. This time I found them transcendently sweet. Their Otoro was buttery and sublime, literally melting in my mouth. It has been nearly five years since I have had raw oysters quite this good. I ordered a combo asking for the chef to choose. Which item. It tasted like a symphony of variations on the ocean. Then I asked them for 3 custom rolls which turned out to be 3 variations on toro. Finally a perfect tempura prawn. It was incredibly satisfying. The funny part is this: I ate dinner with 2 friends. We engaged in a bachanalia of Japanese food. No one was more surprised than me to find out how reasonable the bill was. As we got up to leave, I started to talk about geoduck clam sushi with the waiter. He told me that they get them in season and they are so sweet it is difficult to believe. I guess I’ll be coming back (As if I needed to make an excuse).
