Gecko’s Grill & Pub

Had grouper sandwich for lunch after arriving in Sarasota. Stopped here on the way to Siesta Key. It was a sports bar with a couple (as in 2) of out door tables under an umbrella. Food was typical bar and grill type with burgers, sandwiches, and even a few Mexican options (party had a big Burrito).

Great bar, Caitlyn is a great bartender, food is always perfect. Great atmosphere.

I like this place! I go to Gecko in different locations and I like the atmosphere and the service. I was happy to have Peter assisting us. Attentive, professional, dedicated! This time I chose a margherita flatbread, well done, yummy, the dough a little drier than my preference, but it didn't take away from the overall flavor. Congratulations to the Geckos’ team who try to maintain the standard of the restaurants. Parking: Parking exclusively for customers

A pub or sports bar type restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. Service was very good and so was the food. Burritos and burgers were good sized portions.

Update March 2024 I have numerous times reviewed this restaurant favorably but tonight we had a disappointment.. We saw a Reuben sandwich and instead of corn beef, we substituted salmon. The price of this regular reuben sandwich was $14.25 with one side We were surprised to be charged $22 ! For this with one side which made no sense to us since a full salmon dinner with TWO sides was only 18 This makes no sense to us It would have been the same price or cheaper if we had just accepted the corn beef Reuben and ordered a SIDE of salmon, which is only six dollars. Do you see my point? Bad business We don’t eat meat But if we ever eat there again, which is unlikely, we would take home the meat for our puppy, since they’re charging us for it anyway Past review . They have a killer Cajun pasta a wonderful Siesta salad.. my friends like the boom boom shrimp and well I actually can't remember the last disappointing meal. outside tables with heat lamps in winter.. and they have parking. I do not like the inside frequently even though it's not bad looking because there's always so many TVs with sports... it's what it is a sports bar and sometimes I'm too cold in there and it's too noisy... but other times it's okay. It is what it is...

Outdoor seating available, and parking easy ! I’m really un impressed with this place, we went to go get happy hour drinks and were met with a server who kept running off because she didn’t have any answers to what was on for specials. Then she ID’d us, which is fair, we look young but lol we are 30. Anyway, showed our Canadian IDs and were rejected because they don’t accept that kind of ID and they wanted a passport. The manager then proceeded to tell us about how crime was up in the area. Which furthers my point on why I wouldn’t bring a passport as ID. Anyway if you want alcohol here make sure you have a SIN Card, a T4 Tax Form, 3 government issue IDs birth certificate. The atmosphere was chill, it’s like a dark sports club vibe with an option to sit outside.

Food was extremely tasty!!
