One of those meals I feel like I should have paid more for the given quality and amount. My friend and I split a half Jerk chicken over rice & beans, potato salad and plantains. Jerk chicken was impressively moist, appropriately salty and well seasoned; the runny jerk sauce on the side provided some extra kick; the skin charred black from the grill. Rice & peas were soft and equally flavorful. Conch fritters' mix was tasty and fried well without dripping in grease although a few had possibly overcooked, rubbery conch bits. Otherwise it was a good batter. My friend from Chicago has been coming for years and you can tell from the decor and space. They have some beautiful black & white photographs worthy of a gallery show. No vibe is the vibe—a good sign. This place is a gem.

The one thing I don't like about this place is that they never stick to their posted hourly schedule, and they make up the hours they're open as they go which sucks because I'd like to order every day and give them my money but oh well, nothing you can do.
