Fontaine's Oyster House

The first time I tried this restaurant was on March 22. I had the oyster sampler ( I've had much better) and the best lobster bisque I've ever had. In fact, I got to try the last batch and the fresh batch and couldn't figure out which one I loved best. So when my best friend told me he was going there on April 22nd, all I wanted was that delicious bisque. I raved about it so much that he tried as well. He was disappointed in my taste buds because he said it was horrible and he had to add salt and pepper and something else to make it taste better. I could not believe it. I needed nothing but a spoon when I was there last month. I tried the one he bought me and he was right. That is not the same bisque that I had just a month ago. I'm not sure if it was a different cook that did not follow the recipe, but that bisque needs to be consistent because when made correctly it's perfection.

Service was not good (Saturday 4/6) we are regulars that live in the neighborhood and we love the food here but whomever served us this day was not having it. She even complained to the host “well they gonna have to wait!!” Before he even took us to a table. Bad attitude before even being seated! We even went out of our way to be nice and courteous to the server and she was still dismissive about everything and just so short with us like we were bothering her just ordering basic things not even anything complicated! Food was fine but the service was so bad we won’t come back for a while, especially on a weekend. The fact that we still tipped well says a lot about us vs. the type of service received.

One of my favorite spots to eat. The food tastes amazing!! And the hibiscus margaritas are to die for..I promise you won't be disappointed with any item, my favorite dish is thr fried catfish with red beans and rice deliciousness!!

Went to try the oysters. Menu looked good with a lot of new orleans style dishes. I tried the oyster sampler so I can get 2 of each kind. The oysters were cooked goof but were gritty. They could've cleaned the oysters first if not clean the shucker to prevent the sand getting inside. They flavor was ok at best. I've had better. The cesar salad was good. Service was ok, I give it a 3/5. Idk if I'd ever go back.
