Excellent service with kindness and knowledge. Guacamole is truly delicious with fresh crispy chips! The green salsa is soo tasty..and the cucumbers and jicama served for a complimentary starter are a very crisp well seasoned way to start the meal. The tacos pescado can be served battered or broiled..with amazing fresh delicious slaw! They live up to their reviews and deserve all the good kuddos!! Go..enjoy..the drinks looked yummy! Just a great place to eat and spend your evening! Dietary restrictions: My fried has SIBO and they easily accommodated her

Nice restaurant with bar. Mexican cuisine inspired menu, but be prepared to be surprised in a good way if the chef pulls out something that is a fusion of Mexican and another cuisine from a totally far off part of the world. I visited with some business associates and they were extremely delighted by the food, the staff and the environment. Great place to go for a casual lunch or dinner. Highly recommended.

High prices, minimal portions, greasy, overpriced & under portioned burritos. The salsas that they serve in baby food containers were incredibly annoying to use.

I’ve been here twice now and only eaten the tasting menu, an option Copas and chef Julio do on thurs/fri. Incredible experience both times, getting different, creative dishes like a Dungeness crab taco and a brisket mole. The price point of the menu and the bev pairing, done by Erica, are fantastic. For the quality-to-deal ratio, this is prob the best in the city. I’ve been to californios, a two star spot and many of the dishes here at Copas would fit seamlessly in there if not outshine them. Chef and Erica are wonderful to chat to and have a o-so obvious talent and love for their crafts. There’s zero doubt I will return for a third time

There is so much to say about this place but first things first It's not Mexican food It's not Tex Mex food It's not Cali Mex food It's not bad but it's not good either. So before going into the details of the food let's start with the place. Some of you might remember the fabulous times of 2223 which took place at this location. Well the inside still resembles it but that's as far as I would go. We went there for dinner on a Friday evening. The lighting in the restaurant is way too bright for an evening dinner and resembles more of a taqueria eatery. The background music was in the foreground and doing a good job in preventing conversations from flourishing. Regardless let's talk about the food. We ordered 3 appetizers and two main courses. I was pretty surprised that all dishes came out at the same time pilling up the table like a student cantina. The guacamole was nice tasting but rather small and served with bread in addition to the tortilla chips. A bit strange for my taste. The octopus suffered as it got killed twice. First in the fishing net and then it drowned in a thick sweet mole. To me that's sad as it removes the taste from the octopus. Next up the fish tacos, yes they were big and fat in proportion but lacked flavour. My friends ordered a burrito to share. Again kudos to the restaurant the burrito was huge and it looked like one would gain two pounds just by looking at it. Flavor aside it just didn't look appetizing and should either not be on the menu or presented in a way that looks like dinner fare . So we progressed through dinner and at 9:30 pm the staff decided to open the front door and leave it open to remind the guest that it was time to leave. On a cold rainy SF evening, chilling down the entire restaurant is an insult. It tells me that the owner has no intention to stay in business and doesn't care about his guest. Shame on you guys

It’s overpriced for what you get. Interesting they serve a burrito in a basket like a fast food taco place. Drinks overpriced as well as the food. $150 for 3 is a bit much for 3 burritos 3 cocktails and an appetizer

I came for the mussels, but they were no longer on the menu. I've added photos of the current menu (as of March 20, 2024). I pivoted from the mussels to the oysters. Most excellent. I should have had a dozen and called it a night. But I also ordered the camarones (skewered BBQ shrimp) to finish my seafood fix. I had a great server, who paired the Nikolaihof Gruner white wine with the camarones. Nice suggestion. Be aware that the house adds an 18% surcharge, even for a single diner. The surcharge covers all employees. I increased the tip so that my server was well compensated for his outstanding service. His name is Ullissess B. I will be visiting again when I return to the Castro District next month.
