Columbia Café at Tampa International Airport

Great stop for a Cuban sandwich before a flight.

I love this respite right in the Delta terminal. The service is so good and the food is great too. I love the original location too but it is so nice to be able to grab it on the way out of town. It is worth arriving in time to enjoy a meal here before you leave.

Ordered kids chicken tenders with kids milk to go from the kiosk. The lady who was on the to go counter was playing with her phone the whole time. I was standing in front of the desk to ask about the order after waiting 25 minutes. She didn’t look up at me or acknowledge my presence. A worker came out and said there was food orders ready. She left and came back with the food. Well she forgot the milk and I asked for it she didn’t even say anything I said thank you and she didn’t say anything to me either. I was trying to be polite and nice but the customer service is so bad. Worst of all food was cold. Not kept at a safe temperature at all.

I visited during peak travel hours and the restaurant was wall to wall customers. I was prepared for a wait but didn't care as I had arrived way too early for my flight, however the service was incredibly fast and efficient. I was seated immediately and had a drink on my table within two minutes. My food arrived promptly, and the check came in a timely manner. As for cost, the pricing is a bit lower than what you'd expect from being at an airport, which was a nice bonus. I paid $14 for a large sandwich with plantain chips. The other reviewer complaining about a $20 9oz glass of wine could have ordered a cheaper one; they have a wide offering of beverages at multiple price points. I ordered a Cuban sandwich and it was delicious, along with the plantain chips. Where I live it is hard to find plantain chips, one of my favorite snacks, and these were absolutely fantastic.

The Sloppy Jose was a little messy but also very good. The fries were tasty too. The restaurant was packed but the service was still great.

We ordered 4 drinks because they said they were closing early. It cost $70.00 for 2 drinks. He claimed they were doubles. We have drank there man times. They were NOT DOUBLES. HE CHARGED US PITCHER PRICES FOR TWO DRINKS. we will not go back there. Very disappointed. We loved that place and fly often.
