Food was very good quality, but $35 for sashimi was ridiculous. Not even a generous portion. The nigiri combo was more than $10 less and contained the same amount of fish. Our son is keto (avoids complex carbs) and there should be an option for him for under $25...say a grain-free poke bowl with shrimp or some squares of raw fish.

Gives you a dish that requires bread to enjoy. Not nearly enough bread comes with it. Waitress asks if you need more bread. Charges you $9 for a side of bread without telling you. Jesus. Mediocre food and drinks. Michelin prices. Would not recommend.

TL;DR - Overall, this is a quality spot for excellent food, an expansive menu and large tables that can accommodate larger parties/private dining room for celebrations. Key tips - 1) The sommelier is so so good. Worth getting her rec for a bottle to pair with the food (it’s just by taste and preference no upsell there) 2) Spicy means spicy. They modified some dishes to put spicy elements on the side which I found helps. Full details: Recently moved back from NYC to the area and have been craving a quality dinner out - Cassia delivered. Two of us grabbed a drink at the bar and noticed bar counter is also a great option for full menu service. Although it’s a great deal we passed on the chef’s menu to try some additional elements on main menu. We selected a good amount of dishes but still had a wishlist of things to try so plan to come back with a larger group so we can try it all. Very glad our waiter stressed that spicy means real heat and influenced us to air on side of caution - we don’t typically opt out of spices but they put some if the oils and sauces on the side which def helped to enjoy the dishes more than dealing with the heat. Ranking the items we got - Note: we learn that after 9 years they are changing their menu on 2/22 :( I’m sure new will be great but will def be sad to not get to have some of these dishes again. 1. Beef Rendang (sambal on the side). Learned this dish is staying. Was super flavorful and lived up to the hype 2. Snow crabs - could drink the sauce it came with. Super sad it’s leaving the menu. 3. The wine - ORLAIGH, Picpou 2022 Rancho Guejito Vineyard - we are basic red wine drinkers and don’t look beyond our go-to cabs. However we felt adventurous and trusted the Somme’s rec to try a crisp white to pair with dish flavors. She recommended a very easy to drink white and it helped bring the entire meal together 4. Wontons - got ours with oil and sauce on side - very good but tough because wanted to enjoy them all but needed to pace for rest of dinner 5. Dan Dan noodles- these were good but with the marinade of the meat the heat was really strong. 6. Lime Leaf Custard - only last because literally didn’t have enough space left in stomach but this was a better and stronger than key lime pie refreshing dessert. Can’t wait to go back

Wow! What great food. Fairly certain we tried 75% of the menu at our dinner and I've never been happier to share. Every single plate was delicious… down to the french fries! Our server was excellent and every employee we passed made sure to greet you and thank you on the way out.

I just had my first meal at Cassia and it was exactly what I didn’t know I needed. Firstly, our server Becca was so sweet and was a warm light to our meal. Secondly about the food - I’ve lived in Asia so I’m familiar with southeast Asian flavors and was a bit skeptical.. BUT the beef Rendang completely rocked me - so flavorful yet not overpowering or greasy. The laksa broth was rich and comforting - I was just a bit thrown off by the thick noodle. The papaya salad was a lovely acidic balancer. You might not understand Kaya toast if you haven’t had before, but it’s a wonderful nostalgic dish. Would come again.

Noisy and pretentious. They are just going thru the motions. I felt sorry for the table of 8 seated by the bathroom door. You will get better food and service elsewhere. For example the next evening we went to Girl and The Goat in LA. Simliar family style and the food and service was amazing plus.... they were happy to have us and made us feel special.

After landing at LAX from a 12 hour transpacific flight from Hong Kong, we were happy to have our first meal at Cassia! We were welcomed by a California native and super friendly lady (I feel awful that I didn’t catch her name but knew from our conversation that she knew the Sherman brothers of Mary Poppins). We didn’t have a reservation but a sweet young lady found us a table by the patio. Big thanks to Fernando who took great care of us and was attentive throughout the evening! He was hardworking! There were a couple of other guys who delivered our food with a smile. One of the guys was named Juan. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals with the whole grilled fish and flat bread with chickpeas as our favorite! The charred avocado and cauliflower also stood out! We will definitely come back every time our travels take us to LA especially if we are staying at the Proper which is just a 5 minute walk from the hotel.

Everything on the menu is gold. Wouldn’t over index on the cocktails though.
