A must if in Clearwater, and especially while staying at the Sandpearl Resort. The service and food is top notch for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can’t go wrong with anything on their menu. We’ve ate here multiple times, always happy and keep coming back. The steaks and seafood are amazing. The breakfast is what is pictured below. We did the crab cake Benedict, the steak and eggs, banana foster French toast and the buffet. The fresh squeezed orange juice is a must, along with the cheesy potatoes and freshly made waffles and omelets. The yogurt parfait is seriously the best I’ve ever had. I love their granola that is used, so delicious! Not to mention the GORGEOUS view surrounding you.
All I can say is wow! The staff were friendly and knew the menu very well. Our waitress explained each dish we had questions on beautifully. The atmosphere is impeccable. The wine list was nice, not too long so it was easy to pick one. Free valet when eating at the restaurant. The food was some of the best food I’ve ever had. We ate the pork belly for a starter, the elk and NY strip. The pork belly melts in your mouth. Everything was so flavorful and complimented each other nicely. I would love love love to eat here again.
Celebrated my birthday dinner. Our red wine bottle purchase, and the food was delectable.
Caretta’s has been one of our most favorite restaurants in this area. It is the place to go with special friends and family. We went to dinner tonight and as usual the service from the valet, hostess to server, were outstanding. The server was very friendly, respectful (name Amanda), informative and helpful. She was outstanding! The atmosphere and facility were wonderful. Elegant and cozy (with the exception of a very loud group that came in practically screaming. But that was not the restaurant’s fault. Now the food…so so disappointing. From a stingy, ordinary cheese appetizer to the entrees. My drink of a smoked Old Fashioned was excellent as well as the Crème Brûlée. The positives end there. I ordered the grouper on risotto. It was the strangest grouper I have ever eaten. Mediocre risotto with tough mushrooms. My husband had the pork chop, described as phenomenal. A very sweet sauce and an ordinary, tough pork chop. We didn’t ask our friend about the Niçoise salad so as not the call attention to our bad dishes. Considering the prices at Caretta, we expect the highest quality food and the best tasting recipes. It completely disappointed. We are sorry to say that we won’t be returning here. Dietary restrictions: Amanda, our server, was quick to ask if we had any allergies. I have a shellfish allergy and the lobster bernaise sauce was adjusted (or omitted) to accommodate. I did hear her ask another table for allergies as well. Parking: Parking was free for Caretta diners. Valet was helpful and courteous.
Gorgeous views of the sunset. Loved the decor and the atmosphere. We first had drinks in the lounge which, along with the scallops appetizer, were superb. The bread basket was very memorable as well, I should’ve stopped there. The lobster bisque and the beet salad were probably some of the worst I’ve ever had, the salad especially was disappointing: light on beets, goat cheese and the beet mousse were too salty. Not sure about my friends’ meals but they kept raving about the bread but not their dishes… Come for the views and the ambiance
It was a disappointing night. Our server was not attentive (and the restaurant was not busy), and unfortunately, our meal was underwhelming. Pro-The restaurant is on the water, and you can catch a beautiful sunset,
A true Five star dining experience . The quality of the food was second to none. Our server Devin was efficient, attentive, knowledgeable, and very personable. We enjoyed every aspect of our visit so much that we booked another reservation on our way out. You won’t be disappointed.
