Cannonball Cafe

Great laid-back coffee shop experience in South Boston. Located in a somewhat industrial area of South Boston, Cannonball Cafe offers a refreshing escape with its vibrant and colorful decors and a relaxing patio area. Over the past few weeks, I've found myself drawn to this spot, especially on weekend mornings, to bask in its calm and inviting atmosphere. With ample street parking nearby, it was also a great hassle-free destination for driving in. Compared to other coffee shops in the city, the menu here is relatively more affordable. While it might be concise, it includes a good selection of catered pastries. One of my favorites was the Cinnamon bun with Cream cheese. From their other breakfast offerings, I tried the Cannonball Special sandwich, which featured crispy prosciutto, avocado, secret sauce, and Gruyere cheese. The use of prosciutto instead of bacon lends a healthier twist, though its robust flavor tends to dominate the sandwich. Nonetheless, it was a satisfying choice for a hearty breakfast. As for the drinks, the Chai Latte was excellent. On the other hand, the Matcha latte was a bit of a letdown, being rather bitter as it came without sugar by default. Overall, Cannonball Cafe is a great spot for a causal coffee break or breakfast. While its location may not be the most walkable, its unique charm and inviting atmosphere more than compensate for the extra effort to get there. If you’re in the area looking for a refreshing pause, I would recommend giving them a try.

Great food and cofee

Went at opening and it was empty. Plenty of street parking. There are a bunch of tables outside with a photo op wall. But if you prefer to hide from Boston's winter, there is also seating inside. I got the blackberry jasmine matcha from the special drinks menu. The matcha froth was nice, but the blackberry taste was a bit too subtle. I liked the drink overall, though. For food, I got the brie pepper toast and cinnamon bun. I liked the different flavors and textures of the brie pepper toast: the creaminess of the brie, the sweetness of the jam, and a kick from the pepper. The arugula also added a nice finish. But my toast tasted a bit stale. The cinnamon was pretty good. Overall, I was satisfied with what I ordered and would probably come back to try more drinks.

So wanted to do some work and have breakfast before I headed to an appointment. Wanted a cute cup of coffee but got a to go cup. Ok thats fine but they burned my croissant, made me wait almost 10 minutes to take my order while I could hear the other employees in the back gossiping about Kim K! Another customer literally came up to the counter and yelled EXCUSE me to get some help. I'll try that next t I me. Yet they have the nerve to turn that IPAD around for a tip!! This culture has to stop. They want a tip for doing a job but doing it badly might I add while earning a regular wage. I have no issue tipping for good service but don't expect a tip when you are not putting in any customer service effort in a customer service industry!! I won't be returning. Tired of spending my hard earned money for mediocrity.

Great little spot, nice vibe inside and a cute patio too. Got an espresso and a croissant and they were good!

Closed by 5:30 despite posted hours of 8pm

The food is delicious just wish the had a bigger variety!!the JAZZ AND BRUNCH EVENT IS THE BEST THING HAPPENING . Don't miss out it's a great experience Kid-friendliness: The staff is amazing.they are very kind and hard working

Everything you could want from a local coffee shop. The breakfast egg and sausage sandwich was better than I expected, due to the chipotle mayo. Cold brew was passable and the atmosphere was perfect. Indoor and outdoor seating and a quiet ambiance. I needed to take a work call and kill a few hours while I was in Boston and this place was perfect. Not crowded, nice staff, and restrooms available.
