Calacas Mexican Cuisine

With homemade, tasty authentic dishes and warm, knowledgable service, Calacas makes for a fine break from the hustle and bustle of downtown Nashville and brings some great flavors along with it. We were very happy we went and highly recommend it to all.

We come for business each year at the Nashville Convention Center and stay at the Marriott Residence Inn upstairs. So, it's more than convenient to walk downstairs to Calacas! Each year we stay, we are in town for a week and I would bet that we eat at least 2-3 times. It's just great. We try to sit at the bar, but if we get there too late, the place is packed...and for good reason. Fun place. Great food. We always leave patting our tummies and leftovers to take upstairs because we ate too much! Thanks for the great time. We'll be back next year!

Here I sit, relatively inebriated from the two mezcal margaritas I've consumed. My wife and her compatriots are discussing the pitfalls of breastfeeding in the middle of the night. My Jamaican server, Dane, has insisted I consume this second beverage. I'm suspicious that his motivations are less than be benevolent, but my cloudy mind has dismissed any such notions at this point. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if I awoke in a palm frond roofed structure outside of Tijuana. I'd probably just chalk it up to a good time and walk home. The Mole enchiladas were fantastic, and I'd recommend them to any travelers to Nashville.

We had a large party and our server was wonderful! The food was great!
