Great patio!

Good Mexican food. Great outdoor patio and service was very kind and attentive. Backlit menus were an interesting addition and helpful. Overall a good experience and would go back again. Dietary restrictions: They were willing to accommodate even removing all diary or gluten from items. Parking: Plenty of space in the attached plaza. Kid-friendliness: Diverse kids menu and allowed kids to explore the outdoor area when not causing issues.

Skip it. Simple as that.

Wonderful food, menu, service. We missed the Z-Tejas off Avery Ranch @ Parmer. So glad there is one again. Adding it to our frequent dining list again!

The food was delicious, and the service was top-notch. Ms. Madeline's coordination and customization options were fantastic, and Ms. Vinnie's support truly made the party run smoothly.

We went to Z'Tejas because we were looking for a place with a nice patio area to enjoy dinner on a beautiful spring evening. Everything about that dinner was disappointing. The patio is very nice but on the night we went they were hosting some kind of trivia thing. I wish they had warned us ahead of time, or at least sat us in the back instead of right in front of the speakers. I enjoy playing trivia now and then, but it was not the dining experience we were looking for. The ahi tuna appetizer was a waste of money. There was so much stuff piled on it to make it pretty that we couldn't even taste the tuna. We ordered fish tacos and mushroom enchiladas as entrees. The latter was okay even though the "mole" sauce was some kind of pumpkin sauce. On the other hand the fish tacos were absurdly disappointing: A few ounces of fish rolled in tortillas with tortilla strips. They were tiny, the portion of fish was absurdly small, the rest of the ingredients contributed nothing, and who rolls tortillas for tacos? Both dishes were served with a side of rice that was either undercooked or dried out because it was full of very crunchy rice grains. There was no redeeming quality for this place. Not only was the atmosphere lacking and the food disappointing, the service was terrible as well. The server took our order promptly but it took way too long to get a couple bottles of beer. And we had almost finished our beer by the time our appetizer and entries arrived. At the same time! The server never stopped back to ask how the food was. And we had to wait 20 minutes to get our check after we had finished eating. We just sat there with empty beer bottles and water glasses in the middle of the table the whole time. Part of the problem seemed to be that our server was working both inside and outside tables. But there seemed to be zero cooperation or assistance between staff. We were sitting all that time waiting to get the check and no other server bothered to ask if we'd at least like our water refilled.
