Got my potatoes there for the second year and I'll be doing so for years to come. Lovely little place.
First time of visiting, it's quite large, got parked alright and noticed it has an overflow car park to. Sells the usual suspects, bird stuff, feeders, lighting, planters, hanging baskets etc. Had a range of composts, water features, tools, and fancy goods. Had a range of shrubs, herbs and veg(the hardier types). Bit early for summer bedding but they did have pansies and violas. A few gaps but I'm sure it will soon be filled up when the season kicks in. On the whole not bad but the cafe was a shambles . Hubby was in the queue that long i thought he'd gone to Dobbies to get it , the serving system leaves a lot to be desired. Also has an aquatic bit outside. Didn't go in but there were several tanks of fish outside.
Five stars for the restaurant and superb Sunday lunch, however. The garden centre and store are ridiculously priced ok just to look around.
We absolutely love wards, fantastic variety of everything from garden plants and furniture to food and drink. We often buy garden furniture from here and the quality is fantastic. The food and drink variety is vast and fantastic quality. Would highly recommend
Very good garden centre, excellent food in the cafe too
Selection of plants was limited and drab on Easter weekend, ie the busiest time of year for them, they seemed to have made little effort to bring the seasonal plants where they could be found. Asked a member of staff where their rhododendrons were (you’d think they’d be one of the main sellers right now), just brushed off with “probably up there, or maybe down there” (opposite directions) so I gave up and went to one of their neighbours who had much better stock.
