This cafe is under new ownership and the two guys that run the place are as personable and efficient as you could possibly want. Their mochas are among the best in town and their selection of pastries are great. Like many coffee shops, the parking is limited in front of the shop. But the surrounding streets offer plenty of spots in a great neighborhood.
New favorite coffee shop I guess the 2 guys working there are so cool and friendly, my friend and I had a really great conversation with them. And they have the perfect menu in my opinion, something for everyone! I personally am not a huge coffee drinker but I love smoothies, and one of the guys was kind enough to make me a special one not on the menu with fresh pineapple, blueberries and apple juice. I also had a slice of chocolate chip banana bread that was very good!! They have such a great variety of snacks and drinks so I will definitely go back to try more!
Chocolate malts were good, but too costly as were the sandwiches we ordered. Over $75 for 2 malts, 2 cokes, 3 hot dog sandwiches, 1 egg salad sandwich, and 1 Reuben sandwich with no sauerkraut as they were out. Our 3 great grandchildren would have rather had actual hot dogs than sandwiches containing sliced hot dogs. None of the 3 normally excellent eaters finished their sandwiches which was telling. Our waiter was personable and competent, but there was a birthday party in the small ice cream parlor and other customers waiting for empty tables so we had to go to the counter to get our check. We had been excited to show our great grandchildren this ice cream parlor which we both frequented in our youth. They were not impressed, nor were we.
Love the historical area. Not much parking...use side streets for a scenic walk. Amazing friendly staff! I would love to see more menu items foodwise. The cold case was a bit sparse, especially since we visited in the morning after a walk around South Land Park. Overall, cute cafe, tiny strip mall shops across the street and cozy vibe.
Small cafe to hang out in your weekend mornings. The staff are really friendly and the breakfast burrito is great. I enjoy walking to this spot.
As local as one can local. One of the best spots to get coffee/tea, danish, and have conversations. If you love ice cream next door is the famous Vic's .
Ordered a bagel. It was barely warm and not toasted. It did not taste good. Also ordered a coffee that was not even hot. Barely warm. Staff was nice. I also thought about eating on the other of Vic's that serves more hot food, lunch. But the staff on that side didn't even acknowledge my existence. And that side was not very clean. I don't know how this place got 4 stars!!!
Coffee was not good. I ordered a hot mocha and although it was pretty it didn't taste good and it came out cold like the coffe had been sitting out for a while.. I also ordered the croissant breakfast sandwich and it was cold...the bread tasted old and was not toasted no butter or mayo on it and the egg was cold.
Simple old fashion neighborhood coffee shop. good coffee and breakfast items. rarely crowded. now only opens 8a-1pm on weekends.
