Ramen is delicious. Make a reservation, wait can be long
I've been here three times, and I love it! I can never do a full portion of ramen by myself, but the wonderful staff here always assist me with take home afterwards, and leftovers the next day taste so good. The staff is always hard at work and they seal the deal to this wonderful eating location. I recommend the vegan bowl. I'm not vegan and I enjoy it that much. I usually add eggs to it so maybe it is more of a vegetarian option for me. One day I will save enough space for dessert. Considering how good the food and staff are and the location it's understandable that they seem to always be busy and full. It is probably recommended to call ahead, but both times I've visited I just dropped by on a whim. My second time with a party of two there was no waiting time, but my first time visiting during prime dinner time there was a 20-40 minute wait. And it was absolutely worth the wait too, but in the future I may try to call ahead, especially if I bring a larger party. As someone with severe peanut allergies I don't eat out often, but staff here have seriously addressed my concerns and that means so much to me. Big thank you everyone at Tonchin, keep up the good work!
Ramen, top notch. You can't get any better then this. If your outside NYC it's worth the drive in for this. The Ramen was absolutely delicious and authentic. You will not regret coming in. Don't burn your tongue!
Ordered their Classic Tokyo Tonkotsu Ramen. Excellent food quality, very tasty & plentiful broth, soft chewy noodles, slices of meat were great too, and was a good portion for the price.
Their spicy ramen cured my depression, but gave me emotional damage. I will never be able to have ramen again without comparing it with the spicy ramen I had today, the only runner up to this amazing spicy ramen I ever ate that could get remotely close to the spicy ramen they served me today is their classic ramen. So ef you tonchin and I hope to cross your threshold again, eventually.
make reservations if you can before coming Meat was sliced pretty thin, but it was delicious and melts in your mouth
The broth is excellent, very rich and tasty without being overly salty or oily. The chashu is sliced thinly which I didn’t love - because it doesn’t give you the crispy charred texture on the skin that you might get with the thick pieces. But it was still good. Mushroom kimchi was very unique and tasty, but the portion was quite small. Service was friendly and atmosphere was very nice. Overall, very good. One of the best ramen I’ve had.
