Great place to try English fare and Englisg beers. Loved the Fish and Chips.
Great food great beer. Friendly people. Nice place to hang
Great beer selection, amazing fish & chips, and great service from Lindsay. Awesome spot
I don't usually write reviews unless a place is really special so here we go. From the outside The Toad in the Hole doesn't look like a real pub, unless you are delighted that Spoons has taken over a former Greggs. (If you don't get that comparison you need a trip across the pond to a declining post industrial city like Sheffield to help you understand.) However, inside this place looks right, smells right and sounds right, especially the Brummie behind the bar! And most importantly it tastes right. Good beer, cider and food. It's a pity they didn't have any curry sauce for my chips, (though the barman didn't rate it so maybe it's OK). I've eaten much worse fish and chips in my time and declared them really good. The Cornish pasty was also up to snuff. The beer bores in our group were happy with their bevvies and my cider was also good. Next time I'm in this neck of the woods (from South Carolina) I'll be back to try something different....and the curry sauce.
Good drink and nice staff... But the food was hardly edible IMO... Order fish and chips and a meat pie. F&C had lots of raw batter, no cocktail sauce at all(not the end of the world) the tartar was boring and tasted like just mayo and the meat pie was dry and bland...
Had a great time when I went a few weeks ago. great show, great service good fun!
