The Smokin' Rose Taco Joint

finally got to check out the smokin rose after hearing about it from so many of my friends and i was NOT disappointed!!! best queso in austin and the tortillas are a fluffy, tasty dream. great food, great vibes, great people— what more could you want?!

The BEST tacos in Austin. The tortillas are homemade and I dream of them. I would buy the Cadillac sauce in bulk if it were offered. My fav is the puerca roja because it’s so juicy, delicious and so full of flavor. The owners and staff here are top tier and you can tell they care about their product. I’ve been here more than I’d like to admit and it’s always a 5 star review.

The only thing negative I could ever say about The Smokin' Rose is the fact that I don't live in Austin and I don't get to enjoy it every day (if I could, I WOULD!!!) I went to visit Austin years ago and my Uber driver recommended I check it out, he said it is one of his favorite spots to eat. Now it's on my MUST visit whenever I'm in Austin. The food is INCREDIBLE and the people who work there are so wonderful. If they ever decide to expand to Denver, I'd be the first in line.

Smokin' Rose has the BEST loaded queso I've had in my life. Went several times when in Austin (often more than once a week) and am so sad we moved out of town and can't be regulars anymore. The tortillas are fluffy, meat is tender and delicious, plus the service is amazing - the owners are the nicest people. A MUST go when in town!

I lived in Austin for a year and this was my go to spot! Great vibe to sit outside with friends and enjoy some great tacos and the best queso in Austin! The people working the truck are truly the nicest people as well, another reason to always go back!

Hands down the BEST taco place in Austin. My husband and I were stationed in San Antonio and this place beats all of the other taco places we’ve been too in Texas, which is a lot. The staff/owners are wonderful people and their food shows the love they put into it. DEFINITELY check this place out!

My favorite place to eat in Austin! Every dish I’ve had here is 10/10 and they always have awesome specials to keep things new. The staff is SO kind and accommodating. And the atmosphere at Latchkey (where they are located) is perfect. I always look forward to their Tamale pickup orders in December because they are some of the best Tamales I’ve had- order a bunch and save them in your freezer!
