Came here because we wanted cheeseburgers and wanted to avoid fast food spots. We really enjoyed the service, ambiance and the food. Our cheese burgers were juicy and the fries were crunchy. We appreciate the kids menu options as well.
I walked through the front door and was immediately greeted and led to a table at the back of the restaurant. Once I was seated in my booth, I took a second to marvel at the incredible decor blanketing the walls, it really sold me on the classic diner feel and earned a 5 star rating on atmosphere all by itself. My server was alright, nothing to write home about besides the fact that she seemed to just leave for the whole second half of my visit. now its time to get to where this place really shines, the FOOD. Now today I was feeling like eating a massive burger, (hence why i went to Mels) having never been here before, I expected a soggy-ish, mid burger, with a small portion of fries. So I was very taken aback when my plate arrived with a juicy, well cooked burger, toasted bun and all, escorted by an entourage some of the best curly fries i'd had in a LOOOOOOONG time. Overall it was a great experience , a little on the pricey side but still a top quality meal. Will most likely come back multiple more times in the future. Kid-friendliness: Super kid friendly, the family that was across the room had their child's food served in a little car, looked really cool and the kid was ecstatic.
I eat at Mel's often and have no complaints! All the employees are professional, caring, and polite. The food is delicious!
Just what to expect from Mel's. Good diner food, great shakes with the metal cup. Excellent friendly service here and fast service. They do not have sliders here and lost a star. Not crowded.
The atmosphere?... come on. The food was one of the BEST!... diner experiences that I've had. My Sunrise Sandwhich had eggs to order, a choice of meat ( bacon), as well as some of the best cheeses I ever had. They melted in my mouth while still retaining pieces of unmelted morsels floating around in the luxurious golden lava that was the yolk from my eggs, over medium, cooked perfectly. Then the absolutely best hashed browns I've ever eaten. They were expertly cooked by someone who knows exactly what extra crispy is... but yet, they weren't real greasey. It's definitely gonna become a regular haunt for me and my stepdad.
