The Nickel

Helpful hint: make a reservation here! I did not know that ahead of time, & they did not have tables available, BUT thankfully they had seats open at the bar for us the evening we went. The Nickel is super close to the Denver Center for Performing Arts, so it's great for a pre-show drink & meal. The food was delicious & the drinks were so yummy! Shout out to our awesome bartender, I wish I could remember her name!

Our dinner was fantastic and our server, Allie, was absolutely the best.

The Nickel is situated in the lobby of the Teatro Hotel. Had breakfast food is ok a bit on the expensive side for what it is. Check opening hours as it was frequently closed on several occasions I went to eat there.

The food was good but lack of servers caused big delay in getting service and food.

We waited 10 minutes to receive a menu after being seated for our reservation, another 10 minutes for a glass of water. Food was great, service was terrible. My husband never received items that he ordered, and when I asked for the check, our server became rude. Typically we tip very well (25 - 30%) and we did not after the terrible service.

If the kitchen stops taking orders at 945, then publish that. The kitchen does NOT take orders until 10, it closes at 945. Apparently, this is standard in Denver, that the kitchen closes 15 minutes prior to closing time. That seems to be smoke and mirrors, and should be addressed. Food is incredible. Drinks are incredible. Low rating is strictly based on the bad experience of this 15 minute window. Please fix.

Parking: There's a valet right in front. Very convenient.

Great place for breakfast. Breakfast burrito is a hardy breakfast.

It was our first time eating here. Everyone is super nice and helpful even having been there late for New Year's Eve and early for breakfast the next morning. Will definitely be back.
