The Modern is exceptional! Our dinner last night was perfect, and the staff (service and others) were outstanding. They were welcoming, warm and friendly, and knowledgeable about the food. Special shout out to Stephen who is amazing! He was so attentive and personable! He made our visit extra special. We’ll be back!

Life altering meal alert The dinner tasting menu at The Modern was the best compilation of bites that have ever entered my mouth. While you will do serious damage to your savings while dining at this 2-Michelin Star establishment, you will forget your financial troubles as you scarf down caviar, truffles, lobster, wagyu, king crab, otoro, foie gras, and diver scallop. I am usually no fan of such opulence in a single meal being forced down your throat, but this felt like the Super Bowl of fine dining. Nothing was over the top, nothing was out of place, every bite was more delicious than the last. All the plates were familiar flavors taken to the absolute extreme of how delicious they could become. The standouts were the “eggsoneggsoneggs”, truly the best vehicle for eating caviar I have ever experienced. Dunking buttery, toasted brioche in them took me back to childhood of soft-boiled eggs but for adults. Everything else was insane too. Black truffle raviolo, lobster topped with jamon, and the wagyu with bourdelaise. It’s not like you get to pick, but there are no safer hands for a gyrating food experience than those of Thomas Allan. The service was impeccable, they would wipe your butt for you if you allowed them to. My one knock is the dining room feels a little bit cold and not cozy at all. It’s like you are there for strictly business and that business is eating like a king. The Amigo tip would be to go early and sit at the bar so you can order the wagyu hot dog topped in caviar as you wait for your table. Also, ask for a tour of the kitchen as it is run like military unit on a food mission. Unbelievable 10/10.

The food has a delightful taste, and the presentation resembles a piece of art, with a style reminiscent of MOMA.

I took some visiting friends to a lovely Prix Fixe Luncheon. A gorgeous setting, lovely atmosphere, exquisite food start to finish, and good specialty drinks. Our wait staff was excellent, especially Ulysses who treated us to a view of the kitchen, and escorted us to the museum. The luncheon was a special and magical treat.

We ate in many Michelin stars all over the world. Always it has been and a fantastic experience. Well not this time! We sat at the round tables close to the bar. We had to call few waiter, at least 4, to get our first drinks while the nearest tables finished their first drinks and apetizers. We should have got the hint and leave as service went downhill after that. We still don't know who was/were our waiter. Food was mediocre, not a Michelin start level! No way, only the price tags are! [$32 for min hotdogs]. Even the expressos were undrinkable. The atmosphere: nothing to talk about it. You would expect something funky as it is the MOMA. If you have $250+ per person to waste, then it is the place.

My friend took me here for a birthday lunch. the service was wonderful, and the staff really tries to personalize for you (as they do at most Michelin star restaurants), the food was delicious as well. I don't know if I felt like it was outstanding, but their egg on egg on egg dish really stands out at least. There atmosphere is good although the barroom area is quite noisy, makes it feel a bit less upscale than other places in that area. But overall really great place to eat, would recommend if you are in Midtown, but I actually prefer the dining room portion because you can see outside from it. Specially, if it's a beautiful day it's nice to sit there.

For a Michelin, not a great experience, food was ok as well as drinks but service was the worst!!! And of course with Michelin prices! So be ready for $$$
