Previously an actual garage, like where they used to repair cars. So, bonus points for authenticity right up front. No fake fern bar crap or faux grit. And none of the posers who frequent the nearby microbreweries and places like that. If that's what you're looking for, head to Avondale or Trim Tab. Small inside area. Cozy. Great bartenders. There's a pretty large outdoor area between the old garage bays where you can sit. The bays are all full of random junk locked up behind locked sliding glass doors, like old motel rooms. Not junk that some stager bought and placed for effect. Real junk left there by somebody for God knows what reason. Organic. Speaking of which, my favorite thing about The Garage is it's the only place I can get a Samuel Smith's Organic Double Chocolate Stout without having to be around the sort of people who would normally drink it. Price is right. A bit off the beaten path. Highly recommend for folks who like it real.
Solid, fantastic place. One of my favorite stops on the BHM day drinking circuit.
The atmosphere is, to me what it is all about. The courtyard as i call it, is a must experience.
Super cool place. Sandwich was delicious. Fast service and good beer.
