My wife and I went here for our Valentine's Day dinner and had an overall great experience. The Mhai Thai's were delicious, the appetizers were awesome. They give you a ton of calamari and it's very tasty. Both of our entrees were good. I got the ribeye and my wife got the venison. I do wish it had come with more sides, I didn't order any because it has them on the menu but the portions were very small. A nitpick at most. All in all, we had a great time and would come back to celebrate something here.
The quality of the food does not justify the price. We had meh steak (perfectly cooked but the meat was just not as tender as it should have been for an $80 ribeye - I’d have been happy with it if it had been priced at $40). We had overcooked salmon. The short rib was flat out disgusting - I don’t know if it wasn’t cooked right or if it was a really bad cut of meat. The only things that were really good were the scallops and the mashed potatoes. Our waitress was excellent, thank you to her.
An oc local favorite for many years
Disappointed in Christmas Eve experience 2023....$300 tab...cold food, rubbery lobster, steak over done, dessert to go (creme brule was puddled in container). To this, a 3% upcharge for using a credit card and an upcharge in addition to the $19/glass cabernet. All of this was served in their 'patio area' with lackluster decor and decorations...could have been mistaken for a garage. Should have gone to Captain Jacks. Can't recommend the Bungalow for any reason.
Changing my review from 5* to 4* as the owners have decided to charge a 3% surcharge for using credit cards and are disguising it in an incomprehensible way. Don't nickel and dime me when I am paying to eat in one of the most expensive restaurants in the area!!
Old school cozy restaurant. Bar scene is great for the over 50 crowd. Best bar burger in town! We had scallops this time and they were delicious
