Tasty BBQ-Tex-Mex restaurant that just gets better over time. Each year it has a more mature menu with better food and better combinations. I haven't tried a taco yet that I didn't like but I'm partial to the brisket and the carnita. I love the big salsa bar in the middle with the salsa of the day. I'm always getting a bowl of Pico De Gayo put on my tacos. What really love is the friendly service. Laura takes great care of us. Rob usually passes me while I'm there and treats me like an old friend. Sunday brunch is a regular for us. My kid always has the pork tamales. I have the OMG and steak breakfast tacos on corn. They just revised the brunch menu in the last year and it's better than ever. Like the name says, this has grown from the little hole-in-the-wall to being a great neighborhood Taqueria.

Food was extremely bad. I had the pork with salsa Verde, the meat was tough, lacked flavor, my daughter had the steak bowl, steak was tough, no salt, no flavor. My son had a steak quesadilla, only ate half, my wife had the chicken flautas. They were good. But overall, their salsa bar was the best part of our meal. The waiters reply was, well I enjoy when I eat here. The manager was more considerate. We literally gave back our plates more than 60% eaten and the waiter didn't bother to see that as a problem. I will tip off my hat to the manager for adjusting the bill. She knows how to run a business. They did offer a gift card, however we are rarely in the area. We came here because of the positive reviews but didn't see what the big deal was. It's not that hard to cook a good steak. Especially when you are charging $16.00 for it. I'm giving it 3 stars because the manager understood. I told her, who ever is cooking the food, needs to step it up, especially at the price they are charging. $6 a taco is crazy.

Kids menu says steak for the taco. Everyone knows steak is steak and not ground beef. Even though it says steak it’s ground beef. ⚠️ I have the chicken flautas, those were really good. There salsa bar was very good My family tried the steak quesadilla, the carne asada, and the pork in green sauce. All those were not good. Our server was very concerned about the fact that she was supposed to be off in 30 minutes and when we advised we didn’t like our food she didn’t care to do anything about it. Luckily the manager was kind and understanding to adjust our bill. Thank you so much for that. The server told us she was Mexican, she assumed we were, and said, “that is what we should have expected from an American/Mexican Restaurant” ‍♀️ If you visit this establishment I would stick to the chicken flautas.

This place is a staple of our local restaurant rotation. The staff is efficient, friendly, and accommodating. The food is consistently delicious, portions are an incredible value, drinks are always on point, etc. Only friction point for me is the bathroom setup (single person bathrooms that can be tough to get in/out of when it’s busy), but that’s minor. After all, we’re there for the great food/atmosphere. Vecino never fails to deliver on both fronts! Also, if you’re a vinyl lover, the record store (right next door) is spectacular!
