I odered Kare kare with lechon for to go and only to find out no Kare kare when I got home. Disappointed in that.
Great spot to get some filipino food! I've been to the Campbell location, but since moving, I'm down the street from the Santa Clara location! Two of us weren't too hungry, so we shared a combo 1: -pork sour sinigang soup -crispy pork belly lechon -garlic rice -scoop of ice cream (gluten free) Soup was super sour and piping hot. Very good. The pork belly was crispy and melted in my mouth. Garlic rice was fine. Scoop of ice cream was really tasty, since I'm lactose intolerant, it was good to have an ice cream to finish off the meal that wasn't too sweet. You can't pick, so it is whatever they have that day. I believe mine was a rocky road. Karan was serving us and cooking as well, hopping back and forth. He was friendly and attentive. There is an added 4% cost of living allowance added to each bill. Large parking lot with pretty tight spaces. Excited to be a regular here!
Got 2 meat silog plate, sizzling pork and lechon kawali. Good flavors, egg cooked well, rice was delicious. Kinda wish I had some diced tomatoes with the cucumbers. One suggestion is to make some changes on the paper menus, it looks busy and can be confusing for some people.
I had the chicken sisig burrito and it was fantastic.
The menu was overwhelming. Seems like you want to order everything on the menu, but the owner/cook suggested the bilao where we can choose 2, 3, and 4 different types of meat with rice, 2 eggs, and salad. It was the best choice we made. We're able to taste 6 different types of meat on the menu. We will definitely go back with the family. There's more good food to try. The owner/cook is so nice and friendly. He took care of us.
Home cooked, hearty meals. Slow and easy is what you need to remember when you're here. Food is cooked to order and can take a while but the taste is just like home.
