Just not good enough. Won’t go back.
Great sushi and I mean AMAZING. How Amazing? I will leave that up to you : how much is good sushi in a food hall worth ? I had: 1. 1 piece lean Bluefin Tuna 2. 1 piece yellow tail 3. 1 piece Japanese snapper 4. A 2-bite (small bite) hand roll . Smallest hand roll ever 5. Green tea — just a tea bag in a pot of hot water. The Tea was $12 but wasn’t priced in the menu. I didn’t think to ask. Figured it would be 3-5$ So really … 3 pieces Nigiri.. 1 tiny hand roll and tea $44 PLUS tip — INSANE!!!! I’ll never be back. There is no way in hell you should pay that much for 4 pieces of sushi. Sugar fish is right across the East River.
Definitely one of the best Makis ever had..
Nestled on the second floor of the food court, Sushi Nikko may play hard to find, but the quest is undeniably rewarding. Opting for the 12-course omakase, each piece unfolds as a delightful episode, collectively narrating a compelling story. The well-balanced flavors, showcased on impeccable textures derived from fresh fish, leave no room for complaints.
We tried both their 12 course and 16 course on separate days to see if the quality would be consistent! Very happy with our meals both times. I agree with other reviewers that the selection of fish here is impressive for the price point. We had spanish mackerel, kampachi, chu toro, shima aji, tuna cheek, sea bream, striped isaki and roe+uni just to name a few. Each piece was delicious, unbelievably fresh and we are so happy LIC finally has a reliable place for omakase.
