Smoke & Barrel

Not the best culinary experience in Rockaway. Food was just not that good. And prices were a little high for the portion and quality. Some of it felt kinda cold/not properly warmed. Staff was friendly though. nice spot to just grab a beer and chill.

The chicken sandwich was not good at all. It really looked and tasted like it was just a deep fried piece of skin. The brisket was good. Too bad that was not my order, someone else ordered it and had me try it.

Nothing is smoked at all except the chicken, which happens to be the most tastiest thing in the menu as well as the Texan sausage. Felt like those two items were not made in house. Wings taste like it was in a peanut butter sauce of some sort.

I love Smoke & Barrel! I traveled to Rockaway for the St. Patty's festivities and had to stop by S&B! I had some amazing corn beef sliders and potato salad that had a great dill flavoring.

Food amazing and service on point! Jenn is amazing! Cook fantastic! You want an amazing bbq experience go to smoke and barrel! Delicious and drinks amazing!

Loved this place when it first opened but as we continue going I’m to the point where I know I won’t eat again. The food has changed, prices changed and overall I leave feeling like I spent too much. My biggest disappointment was they changed the banana pie and it was awful. Spent $7 on a tiny pie to trash it.

I had the opportunity to go to Smoke & Barrel's 1st Whiskey tasting and food pairing. What a great experience we had. The andouil sausage {homemade} platter was absolutely fantastic. They also had a terrific duck dish. They served us enough food for twice the people we came with. And the price was well worth it. Not to mention the very creative whiskey pairing. We highly recommend the entire menu as well. Bon appetite.

I discovered Smoke & Barrel summer of 2023, 8 weeks after it opened. The food is amazing -- the best barbecue in Queens! The people are really what makes the different. I met the owner and his wife: they are so warm, welcoming, and really devoted to making this restaurant a go-to spot in the Rockaways. I went again a few weeks ago and they have brought in pool tables, live music and more to make the restaurant a real neighborhood institution. I also got to meet and spend time with pit master Allie and chef Mike. They are so sweet and clearly committed to their craft -- the food reflects that. It's so good! I loved the pulled pork, ribs, corn bread. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, both Allie and Mike pour their heart into the food. S&B hosts tasting menu nights -- the first one in January 2024 blew me away. It was a 7 course whiskey tasting paired with small bites for an incredibly cheap price. It was hands down the best meal I have ever had. Allie crafted a beautiful, well considered menu, and put so much time and effort to build out an ambiance that only enhanced the meal. The highlights for me were the sausage (I usually hate sausage but I couldn't stop eating it), the best pork belly of my life, tea-smoked duck (!!!), and a tart yet sweet cherry dessert. I will definitely go to future tasting menu nights and bring friends with me, and anytime I'm in the Rockaways I make it a point to go to Smoke & Barrel.

Just moved here and this is the second time I’ve been here for a burger in 2 weeks… and that’s me holding back burger meat was fresh as h*ll, and the taste and texture was stupendous. Jennifer was my server and she held it down!!!! With excellent and prompt service, as well as some good convo… ours was about animal rescues ;) couldn’t have had a better lunch. Super wholesome experience.
