Smitten Ice Cream

Strictly a to-go proposition here. Ice cream tastes are subjective but if you like a pure unadulterated style of ice cream (i.e. not everything needs pretzels, frosted flakes, or lavender extract swirled in) then Smitten is the place for you. The founder pioneered the Kelvin machine about ten years ago where they make the ice cream in front of you using their freshly made from scratch mix. Vanilla and chocolate ganache are my favorites but everything I've tried here has been absolute perfection. Cannot sing the praises of this place often enough!!

Very upsetting. I came to visit San Francisco for one night and they decided to close early for no reason other than the employees wanted to go home. So very upset.

Food: The ice cream is definitely some of the best in San Francisco not to mention all the different toppings you could add onto it. The portions were also relatively big which is a bonus. Otherwise there wasn't really anything else worth noting.

This is definitely up there as some of the best ice cream in SF. You can't sample, since it's made-to-order, but I'd be shocked if anyone were disappointed in the flavors. Only note is that, if you really like mix-ins, this may not be for you since even the Brookie ice cream didn't have many actual chunks in it, but the flavor was fantastic, as was the Chocolate Ganache. Probably the best chocolate ice cream I've ever had.

Great experieence and jasty ice cream. It is no fault to the1st z establishment but this particular night there were quite a few snooty customers kinda rude, gotta be honest. And I bet that those downers were not even rlly from SF

I tried their cookie dough with pretzels and chocolate chip but I couldn't see or taste the chocolate chip. Also the ice cream tastes like cereal milk so it was a bit too sweet.
