This place is in the old Brown Derby building of the Hollywood age, inside the actual derby hat itself. It’s a little hard to recognize the itch their repainting. Not even the staff know. It’s all the way at the top/3rd floor of the Brown Derby Plaza in Koreatown. There’s paid parking in the building downstairs midblock. Seoul Night is a bit pricey but if you can find a Groupon, it’s more affordable but only available weekdays. I do like the food. Like others, I think the best options are the pastas, risotto and the grilled pork belly platter. I wish they had more vegetables. I’ve also had straight up Korean food which is decent. The outside is nicer when it’s warm out.
I give this place 5 stars for several reasons. It is very beautiful, delicious, the staff is friendly, the girl who served us was so nice and friendly, she told us everything and gave us advice, we trusted her choice.
The food here is really good :) . We really enjoy the rissotto with squid ink, it was awesome ! The other dish with rice , squid, pork bella, etc. Was also good !
Another restaurant for Chef Kang and he nailed it. By no means is it perfect but boy.... was I surprised by not only the portions but also the creativity of the dishes on the menu. Came here recently when I came to visit some friends in LA. It's a cool little low key spot on the second floor of a strip mall in K-Town. We ordered the chicken gizzards/squid stir fry and the budae jjigae, along with soju and beer. Serving sizes were huge and everything tasted good. The servers were friendly and the whole experience was a memorable one. It's a cool little spot that is worth checking out. It's a perfect place for either catching up with old friends, or making new memories. With both drinks and good food of course.
Food is delicious (and likely to contain a lot of fat.) Ordered seafood pasta, squid risotto and pork belly which were perfectly made. The plating on the pork belly, which also had shishito peppers was stunning. One dish came out late but as I was sharing, that wasn’t a huge deal. I only wish the seafood pancake had been better but seemed a little overcooked and thick but I’ll definitely be back to try it again. I also wish prices were a little less but it is what it is these says.
