Selva Grill University Town Center

Made reservations for 7:15 for my wife and I. No where online is a dress code mentioned. We were both dressed nicely, I included a hat in my outfit. We were rudely turned away d/t my hat…could have been easily fixed if dress code was mentioned online. Horrible customer service, makes me cringe at what service is like for meal service.

First and last time I will visit Selva. Went for lunch, and was disappointed. It was not busy, but we waited ten minutes to be greeted by our server. The kitchen struggled with basic dishes. Two burgers were ordered medium and came out looking like large balls as opposed to a burger patty. One was well done to the point that it crumbled when cut in half, and the other was rare,. Skirt steak was ordered med rare and came out well done also. The egg on the burned burger was not cooked through. The whites were still clear and running. It looked disgusting dripping off clear yellow ooze from the overcooked burger. Fortunately, the burger that was simultaneously overcooked and undercooked was taken off the bill. Small consolation for not having lunch. There are much better choices for a nice lunch @ UTC.

Go to Alpine Steak House for better steak prepared correctly. My guests (7 in total) ordered 3 different steaks dishes respectively and only 1 of them was cooked as requested. Service was nonexistent, the waitress was no where to be found and could have cared less about the meals being served. On top of which she added a 20% tip to the meal. 20%???? For that amount of gratuity could you at least check on the table during the course of meal. Pathetic.

Frank delivered professional and friendly service. Very knowledgeable of the menu. Ask to sit in his section. Food was also great.

Food was excellent and beautifully presented but service was definitely lacking. We arrived at 5:00 and the restaurant was empty. We started with the beef empanadas and they were excellent. Flaky and flavorful in a delicious sauce. Even though we were the only people in the dining room we had to keep looking for our waiter and ask the assistant to send him over. We chose the lamb rack and curry swordfish for our entrees. Again, the presentations were beautiful and food was very flavorful. The chive risotto was also very good and cooked perfectly. My wine glass was empty and I wasn’t asked if I wanted another until almost done with my entree. This should not happen when it’s slow. I will definitely return because of the food, but sincerely hope service improves.
