Salar Restaurant and Lounge

We had a table full of people and the service was amazing! Tony did a fantastic job! I started with the isle of Skye drink, very heavy on the coconut, which I love so it was very good. The presentation for the drink in the rock with dry ice, was so cool! Ordered the baked scallops, which were the best scallops I have ever ate. Extremely flavorful! I ordered the lamb shank, which I was not the biggest fan of. Kind of fatty for my taste. My boyfriend ordered the delmonico ribeye, which was delicious. My brother ordered the pork chops (wish I ordered) they were so tender and juicy and full of flavor. The other 2 in the party ordered fettuccine Alfredo with artichoke and chicken, they said olive garden was better. Ended the meal with Panna cotta, this was delicious! The others had the chocolate cake, which was heavy on the cocoa but they loved. The atmosphere is pretty and Tony showed us the back of the restaurant, so kind of him. Definitely a great overall dining experience.

This was my first time at Salar, and hopefully, it won't be the last. The restaurant is beautiful and has a cozy feel. The food is out of this world. We were hoping for authentic cuisine, and Salar did not disappoint. Our server Daniella guided us through the food menu, with a history of a dish and a drink menu for a perfect pairing. It was an absolutely wonderful night to celebrate the holidays.

The chef thinks the more salt he/she put on food the more they can charge for it! NO! Food doesn’t work that way. The lamb shank was inedible due to saltness, but the scallops were FANTASTIC, might go back for the scallops only. Over priced, overhyped, and some flavors were good in all fairness. Cocktails are a variant of really great and very bad, you go gamble with them. The server was nice.

Very pleasant dinner at Salar. Great drinks, well prepared food, great atmosphere. Service was very helpful and attentive. Prices are a little $$$ but value is there. I would go back for sure.

The following is an unsolicited, unbiased review. Bottom line? IF you are a "foodie", this is a restaurant well worth considering. If you want to feel warmly welcomed (shout out to Daniel the maître de and to the entire staff of service professionals), consider having a meal here. IF you like eclectic atmospheres (including well chosen unusual music), consider dining here. IF you demand high quality food ingredients, this is your restaurant. If you want to support a local independent chef / owner, spend some time at this restaurant. ZERO regrets whenever I dine here (I drive from Cincinnati). It should be noted that I am "hard to please" and Salar succeeds consistently. Last comment? At least "give them a try". I suspect that you will be glad you did.

Salar is great for intimate or professional dinners. The restaurants design is unique and offers fine/upscale Peruvian cuisine. The prices are a little high, but the experience is worth it. I believe they have a room for private occasions. I encourage you to visit Salar.
