Tried this spot on a weekend for dinner. It's a country restaurant built on top of a small steep hill; which offers a view depending on where they seat you. A live country band plays on a lower level and can be heard throughout the restaurant and bar areas. This offers an ok atmosphere... and ok service. Unfortunately, the dinner rush stretches the staff and negatively affected their ability to meet all our needs; we weren't checked on as you would expect throughout the meal. As a country theme it had a menu that matched; steaks, smoked brisket, mashed potatoes, etc. Unfortunately, this is where Rustlers Rooste fell very short of expectations. The smoked meat that was ordered was not smoked. It was tough and bland. The BBQ sauce was the only item that offered any taste; as the sides and bread options were also bland. The only reason we could guess for the subpar dishes is that they need to accommodate for a high number of guests. Although the staff said their dinner rush was typical, to which, wouldn't they better plan so the quality of the food is more becoming of such an establishment? Unfortunately, this may be a one-time experience as it seems they don't see the error in their ways. If I do attempt to jump through the hurdles (limited parking & long wait times) I will update this review. Until then, this is a "cool" spot to try once but does not merit return business. Parking: Extended parking available at the bottom of the hill and requires a shuttle to bring guests up the hill; too steep to walk.

Food was cold and tasteless, no seasoning. Party of 11 with reservation. Missing beans never got any, carrots were hard and cold, and Servers invisible, so we couldnt complain or ask for replacements. Paid a high price for food that was terrible. Don't waste your money!! Restaurant wasn't busy. You need to read your reviews! We ordered many different things and it was cold, tough, dry, and tasteless. I felt horrible because I wanted to go there for a Family gathering Everyone was let down and hungry afterwards.

Food was ok. Wait service was subpar. Our dinner came way too early. We were still eating our appetizers and salad. Soooo the server was wrong because she left it at the table until the last dinner came out 8 minutes later. Hmmm and got cold. Not all of our food came at the same time. Server comped our dessert so she tried to make it right. Magician came to our table did a short show and asked indirectly but purposefully for a tip. Really ???? Would not return ‍♀️

Views are awesome - fun place to have a drink at. Steak has been awful all three times I’ve been. Not going to be fooled again.

This place has a great view of the city. No sunset view from indoor seating area. They had live music when we were there but from where we were sitting, we really could not hear it. The seating was very tight with a small table. We did get the snake bites with cactus. It was OK. My sister in law and I shared the big prime rib (had to pay a $5 share plate fee, but it was worth it). My friend got the brisket and sausage sandwich. She enjoyed her meal. My brother ordered the ribeye steak. He said it was tasteless! Up charge for a potato but you get a salad with the dinner. 3 of our meals came together just minutes after we were served our salad. Did I mention the tables were small?? Our food sat on the tray for about 5 minutes until we finished our salad before we could switch out plates. We are eating and my brother is still waiting for his steak. I want to say it took about 10 minutes before he got it, and it wasn’t even tasty. The waitress was very apologetic and said she would give us dessert for free. We ordered the dessert and it showed up in are bill. She did remove the charge once we mentioned the mistake. Overall, the meal was mediocre, at best! The only thing going for this place is the location (scenic) and the live music, if you get a seat to hear it.

I thought I was back at home in Central Texas! Bring your cowboy hat! Enjoy the atmosphere in and out! Overlook the golf course and the city of Phoenix, Tempe, Scottsdale, and the mountains. I found myself just looking and not eating Vegetarian options: Get vegetables! Parking: Good or enjoy the steep walk!
