One of my favorites for a date night ❤️❤️❤️ (inside the shops at Columbus Circle 3rd floor) Dietary restrictions: Not all of the vegan or vegetarian options but worth it
I have to be honest, I didn't know this place existed! My boyfriend surprised me with a birthday dinner here back in January and I forgot to review it. I have to be honest, riding up the escalator, you'd think you're going to Per Se, my boyfriend immediately shut that down ( ). We had pleasant evening, with a great table by the window overlooking the outside NYC streets. Every steakhouse we've gone to, we've ordered the same things: a martini, whiskey neat, caesar salad, porterhouse or tomahawk and 1-2 sides. I also got a surprise slice of birthday cake, thank you! An amazingly well done up place with the right mix of good food, music and service..and yes the ambience too. The place is a must to go for its food. The wide variety is amazing. Their win list a comprehensive one. The place is spacious and yet crowded on a weekday as much as a weekend.
Asked in advance if I can have a seat by the window. The maitre d, or host was very rude. It’s noon and on a sunday, restaurant’s not busy. He looked very annoyed I asked for another table… i don’t remember the service being like this few years back…
First, this is a must stop for a phenomenal steak, in a wonderful atmosphere, with great service, and wonderful memories. I took my parents to NYC this past week. I had taken my mom before, but not my dad. So, we did NYC big. We hit some great foods spots, Porter House was one of those. Our meal was a little over $500 for 3. Now, that is a bit pricey, but not out of reach for those touring NYC. It was certainly worth it. My mom and dad at the Porter House, on the bone, for two. They had it prepared medium rare. I tasted both the filet and strip pieces of it. It was succulent. It had a wonderful and vibrant flavor. I had the Chili Rubbed Ribeye, rare. I have to say, this one stole the show for me. It was so tender and tasty. It melted in my mouth. I love a good ribeye because you can get some good marbling. It was one of the better steaks I've eaten in my life and travels. The three of us shared onion rings and truffle mashed potatoes. My mom had the caesar salad. My dad had the field greens salad. And, I had the beet salad. The beet was my favorite. It had frisee on it as well. The beets were full of flavor. The caesar had a wonderful dressing. We had some sourdough bread as a prep. My dad had a beer, my mom a cocktail. I had the 2019 Margaux Bordeaux. It was fabulous. If you are looking for a delicious steak and a beautiful setting, this is the place. There isn't a bad seat in the house. But, we had a great one by the window looking out over Columbus Circle.
every time I come here, I really enjoy the experience and the food is always cooked perfectly and delicious. I do feel like it is overpriced for what it is, but it is a fancy place I have had the cowboy rib steak twice and it was superb both times. my friend had the Bino. It was great, and their wine was excellent. If you are lucky you can get a seat by the window but I like that it's not one of those restaurants that feels crazy crowded. And at the bar area is separate so it doesn't make the place too noisy. Would recommend if you have money to spend. Dietary restrictions: If you don't eat meat there are still many options for you
1- Food. 5/5. Everything we ordered was absolutely Delicious. 2- Service. 3/5. Waiter we had kinda seemed like he had an attitude or something and that was before I told him I’m not ordering everything all at once. Maybe it’s my straight USA man persona or something . I like to dictate the pace of my meal only because in the past the order and pace of the dishes usually gets screwed up. We look for warm and engaging service but experienced Nada. Our drinks were delivered quickly and promptly. Food was served hot and fresh. 3- Ambiance 5/5. Absolutely Beautiful restaurant that gives certain tables a view of Central Park. Clean dining area and bathrooms. 4- reservations 5/5. Fairly easy to get. 5- Value 3/5. Food and restaurant is top notch, a little overpriced for steakhouse in Manhatten but I have zero problem paying up for a GREAT experience. The one waiter/ server not sure how to classify man I guess needs some formal training though. I’d probably return, we have been here 4 times already. Recommending is on hold for now.
