First time ever leaving a restaurant review. Feeling compelled. The decor, staff, and ambiance are fine leaning towards nice. Basic upscale Brooklyn aesthetic and vibe. The food is pretentious, culturally confused, flavor-schizophrenic, over salted, and generally over-fussed. Gimmicky is the most concise description. Cheap ingredients (ie. Cabbage, Skate) are dressed up in gaudy amounts of pomp and circumstance to disguise their lowly stature. (By the way I love Skate, when it's prepared in a simple delicious way like they do in coastal Spain.) More expensive ingredients (ie. Maitake mushrooms, tenderloin) are dressed down by deep frying or over-saucing. All in all it's a culinary circus - cheap thrills and outlandish prices. A bottle of wine under $120 was a scarce find, and when one came to the table we drank from teeny glasses not suitable for drinking. In a city of so much culinary talent, this was honestly one of the silliest and most painful dining experiences I have had in a while.
Such a fun delightful menu! So cozy and romantic inside. The service was great and the food was so good.
I surprised my partner with dinner at Place des Fetes for our eleven-year anniversary. The staff and chefs went above and beyond to make the evening special and solidified the experience as a cherished memory. Thank you so much to the team at PDF!
Mind blowing. Best restaurant in Brooklyn.
Had a wonderful dinner here with some of the most exceptional food I have had in a while! The atmosphere is warm and cozy, and everyone was so hospitable and lovely. The food was really well balanced with great flavors. Highly recommend!
Wow! Chef Nico (Oxalis) shines once more at this gem of a spot! From the delectable scallops in butter sauce to the refreshing green goddess salad with chicory, each dish is a testament to culinary artistry. The wagyu tartare tantalized our taste buds, while the Bucatini pasta left us craving more. However, it was the creativity behind the oysters (with passion fruit and habanero, what?!) that stole the show for us with a perfect balance of sweet and spicy. Exceptional food, impeccable service, and a vibey atmosphere make this restaurant an absolute must-visit.
Absolutely fantastic from the beginning to the end! Made a large party request for my birthday celebration here last minute and thought it might not happen. However, the owner was super efficient and was able to arrange the celebration for me. They made a curated pre-fix menu with my name and birthday message on it, and were also able to make changes for one of my friend with dietary restrictions. Every course was unique with fresh flavor. Cozy atmosphere, unpretentious spot, amazing wine list and seasonal food menu, definitely a great place for a romantic date! Thank you so much for making this happen! I can’t wait to come back again!
The Berkshire Country Pork Ribs were out of this world nice. They do a nice caramalized honey glaze that is worth going extreme lengths to eat again. I would crawl on my hands & needs from midtown Manhattan to get another bite of that.
